Dr. Maria Editha Bautista Santos, MD

I have seen Dr. Bautista Santos for several years, after my primary moved. Each year I became a little more disillusioned with her care. She spends much of your annual visit staring at & typing on the computer. When I became more active and lost over 30 lbs., she still found a way put a negative spin on my walks with my dog because you stop & start when they go potty or sniff things. One time I asked her about a discomfort I was having in my private area, she took a quick look & told me to use a lubricant when having sex, assuming that sex was the culprit...it was NOT! It was a jaw-dropping, tongue-tying moment for me. I ended up googling the condition for myself since she was not helpful. That was when I made the decision to switch...best move I ever made. Please Dr Santos, for the sake of your patients, get back to the basics of takeing care of and listening to patients and stop worrying about the metrics!!!

Would NOT recommend seeing Dr. Santos if you're a young person looking to find primary care for the first time. I made it very clear to all staff that I'm a young adult who is very new to insurance, the process of finding a primary care doctor, & how things work in general. This visit was a nightmare for any young adult.The minute Santos walked in before she even introduced herself to me, I was being scolded for the lack of medical history they had on file. I wasn't given any room to speak and was talked over multiple times. I did try to do my due diligence before my appointment to help get things faxed over but things did not get solved before the appointment. She made it very clear it was my fault.Overall, Santos was extremely condescending and had no bedside manner. Anyone who's plus size please be cautious. She made a lot of insinuations and did not attempt to learn anything about me. The absolute worst-case scenario & all my fears and worries came to fruition. 0/10 recommend.

I drive a distance to keep Dr Santos as my primary care physician. She listens, is caring and even went to bat for me with my insurance company when they refused to pay for a test she ordered. When I was diagnosed with a serious illness she was instrumental in getting me seen quickly by specialists and was a huge support to me. I am here today because of her.

Dr. Santos is always friendly, reliable, efficient and truthful. I learned over the years to trust her. I trust her knowledge, her advice, her compassion and her initiative.

Very disappointed! Looking for a new doctor. Almost the whole appointment was her and her laptop. Not once did we get eye contact. She was reading my information on her laptop and asking me questions without looking at me. She has been my doctor for years, and each year I noticed she was more worried and distracted about reading and typing on her laptop. She handed me the paperwork to take to the front desk to make my appointment for next year, without even saying good bye.

I am dissatisfied with the care that I have received at Ascension with Dr. Santos. When I voiced my concerns regarding my health she utterly disregarded them and had no empathy. In addition to the her disrespectful manner, Santos tried to push a vaccine on me. I informed her that I recently had my first covid vaccine prior to that. Every health care provider should know you can’t combine any vaccines with that vaccination. I was the one who had to educate her on that health protocol. I would have expected quality care as I have had wonderful experiences with other providers with Ascension in the past.

It was my 6 month review. I always enjoy my visits with Dr. Santos. She is thorough, well informed and explains in a manner I totally understand and I love it.

I went in to see Dr. Santos for the first time today and after the treatment I received today, I will not be returning. She has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen. I was giving her my health background and the chronic pain that I have suffered for the last 10 years of my life due to arthritis in my back. She verbally attacked me and treated me like a criminal. I never once asked to be prescribed opioids and she accused me of coming into the clinic for that purpose!!

This MD is one of the most unfortunate results of a human being having the intelligence to finish medical school with the compassion of a crocodile. I am an experienced RN who has had to deal with sorry excuse of a doctor in regards to aging parents. She not only lacks compassion, she lacks the ability to critically think. This makes for dangerous consequences for her patients.

This Dr has few patient relation skills. If you are overweight she will treat you poorly. I asked for help with weigjtloss and she assumed I was asking for diet pills without asking what I needed. I was late by 10 minutes for a physical I had to book 4 months in advance. My dog had an accident I had to clean up at home and the check-in at the clinic took 10 minutes or more. Her nurse came out of the waiting room to tell me dr wouldn't see me. Nurse was clearly frustrated with the decision.
