Dr. Maria Hanson, MD

We have been seeing Dr. Hanson since 2011. She is genuinely so kind and compassionate. Dr. Hanson takes her time and is thorough, which is rare with a lot of physicians these days. Over the years she has never hesitated to refer us to a higher level of care if necessary. I cannot say enough good things about her!! We love her so much, we followed her to the Centerville office even though it’s not near as convenient for us. I personally know many healthcare professionals that take their children to Dr. Hanson. Dr. Hanson is empathetic, has fantastic bedside manner and is persistent in advocating for her patients. I am grateful my children have such a phenomenal pediatrician.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews… she is the best pediatrician I could find for my son. Helpful, understanding and supportive. Very positive, nice and flexible … she sincerely cares about your kids! She always helped in many difficult situations.

We switched to Dr. Hanson after Dr. Youra retired. I have three children & was there for 6 years. My infant has a dairy and soy allergy that we found out through blood in her stool & an ER visit. Dr. Hanson asked me to supplement my breastmilk with formula & gave me 2 cans of Alimentum as her recommendation. I used 3 of these before realizing that they have dairy in them. Second complaint is the practice in general. The front desk staff doesn't gaf. They were never outright rude but not friendly at all. They always made me feel like I was bothering them. The wait times in the lobby are horrendous. Their billing is a mess. I am still waiting to hear back from the office manager about a mistake with billing, where they charge me for a sick visit versus a well checkup. (Which is 100% covered by my insurance.) I have called twice over the last three weeks. Last, is that they have 2 different infant scales that will tell 2 different weights. They tell you each time to make sure you use the
