Never met her
My doctor referred me for a consultation with Dr. Mascolo to discuss my lung condition, and what updated testing might be available to detect whether it was active again. Previous x-ray was clear. Check in with Megan was fine. Intake with Jaden, very pleasant. Spirometry, with Ingrid, again very pleasant. I was put in a room and then the PA, Jacey, arrived. I was finally told that the doctor was not in. I was advised that 'we handle matters in her absence.' After a short discussion, the PA told me one test I could have was a CT scan. Not having met or discussed anything with the doctor, I questioned the test's necessity and cost. She said that my insurance would cover it. Very patronizing tone, and I said so. First time in 72 yrs I was told my insurance would pay for a test, when I questioned its necessity. Got up to leave. Heard her tell staff that I would not be a good fit. I agree. When you say consultation with the doctor, it should be with the doctor.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Mascolo?
Dr. Maria Mascolo is my pulmonary and sleep disorder doctor and has done an excellent job for me for a number of years. I had 27 PE's in both lungs and I have a number of breathing issues including COPD and Sleep Apn. and have been well treated by Dr. Mascola. I can't give a more positive review. Without Dr. Mascolo I don't believe I would be alive today. She is an EXCELLENT DOCTOR and maintains a positive and professional PA, Nurses, and Staff. Mike Lepper, Savannah, Georgia
