Fair Review from a Long Time Patient
I have been seeing Dr. Maria Nickolova for many years. She's very professional, polite, understanding. Very knowledgeable and experienced in her field. Most negative reviews are due to the misconception and lack of understanding for what a psychiatrist does. They're not counselors. They are there to diagnose and treat mental disorders, to ensure your medication is working and to make necessary adjustments and or referrals. Yes, just like counselors her visits are timed. This is not uncommon. There were times I did feel I did not have as much time as I would have wanted, but in part this is my fault for not coming prepared with a list of things to talk about as I get mind fog and have difficulty expressing myself at times. No issues with urgent calls. Come prepared to her visits and you will be pleased with her care. Also keep in mind these reviews have nothing to do with the clinic itself. We should be reviewing the Dr. and not the office staff. Jessie E.

I am very unhappy with this doctor. I think they must have a quota or something similar to meet. I was informed that I would not be allowed another video visit. My husband passed away and I am disabled. She really didn't care about my situation and informed me that I should be thankful she hasn't required me to come in every month for my Xanax. That must be the policy of the group. They only care about the money. She writes the script and your on your way. She didn't even talk to me after I sent her a portal message. She had someone else call. They terminated me for sending them a portal message they didn't like. If she really cared about me she could have called me herself. Never even told me in the portal that she were sorry about the loss of my husband. She is fine until you really need help. The last time they closed my account because I had an outstanding bill of $40 that I wasn't even aware that I had. You are better off going to a private doctor or somewhere like Horizon.

If I could give zero stars I could. Not only did they give me the wrong address causing a cancellation but they sent a letter telling me I had two weeks notice to reschedule or I couldn't come back WHILE I WAS OUT OF TOWN FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Awful service! Should be ashamed of themselves for treating anxious and depressed people this way!

She blindly allowed me to keep taking a medication that caused a weight gain of 100 lbs. Instead of switching medications (which was totally possible), she kept me on this same terrible medication and until I saw another doctor I blamed myself for the weight gain. She also blamed me for the weight gain. Actually, she caused my weight gain with her stupid medication.

Horrible doctor. Doesn't care about anything but payment. Too old to be practicing. I'm thinking about reporting her to department of health due to violations, but am waiting to cool down before I do anything rash. Do not see her, there's more qualified drs that care.

Dr. Nickolova was easy to speak with. She was very thorough in her efforts to understand my needs. I highly recommend her. I felt very comfortable talking with her. This was my first video conference. I enjoyed it.

We really liked her. I had to accompany a family member during his appointment, the reason is unimportant. We found her be intelligent, articulate and easy to talk to. She truly understood where we were coming from. Everything she said was right on. Nice lady!

There to write prescriptions only. If you're looking for a true eval and help don't come here. I thought I had symptoms of adult adhd. My primary Dr. gave me a low dose script and referred me to her. She spent about 10 minutes with me the first visit and filled the script. It was working well so I was fine at first. Later visits (15 min max) she raised dosage. I've become isolated- having dif., asked if I should make a longer appointment for eval.- She practicly pushed me out the door.

Dr. Nickolova pushes patients through like widgets on an assembly line. She is quick to see you and get you out the door. She doesn't like when you ask questions; it seems as if she feels you are questioning her intelligence. When I asked about a medication I had researched that seemed to address the multiple issues I was dealing with, she immediately dismissed me and put me on something else that did not work at all. When I tried to tell her it wasn't working, she didn't seem to care at all.

Exact same issue as other clients. Money turned out to be the problem; was clear that this is their only objective. I was an established patient for over a year and never missed or rescheduled a single appointment. But due to a change in schedule for my job, I was thrown off and missed one. They wanted to charge a $70 missed appointment fee. I've never heard of such a thing. When I said I refused to pay such an outrageous fee, I get a letter saying they're no longer accepting me as a client. wow

Absolutely NO ONE should go to see this woman. She doesn't care the least bit about her patients, only about the money for the visits, which are incredibly short. She prescribed various meds for me which are dangerous if suddenly stopped. I called twice, and my pharmacist called once to try and get refills the week before they would be needed. No one ever bothered to call back and the scripts were never called in. I had to go a week off of them which was horrible. Stay away people!!

Avoid avoid avoid, unless you want a pill pusher. Condescending in sessions and really doesn't seem to prod and ask questions. My first appointment with her lasted all of 10 minutes. Never really had an interest in getting in depth with me at all.
