Dr. Maria Solis-Colegate, MD

Dr. Solis is one of the best doctors I've had in my life. She truly cares about the well being of her patients. She takes the time necessary to gather the information required to make the best recommendations. She explains all options and includes the patient in the decision making process. Her knowledge of medicine is up to date and her recommended treatments are based on scientific evidence. Her demeanor is friendly and pleasant, and she's got a good sense of humor. The one thing to keep in mind is that, because she gives her patients the time needed, often she runs behind schedule. This isn't her fault. She isn't the one doing the scheduling and if they only schedule a 15 minute appointment slot for a patient with complex issues, she still takes the time necessary to give that patient the best care. This is a good thing and takes a special type of doctor to not rush through every patient encounter, so please don't hold it against her. If you want a wonderful doc then go see her!

I had my first visit with Dr. Solis today and was very impressed. It's been a very long time, years, since I've felt like I've been listened to and the doctor is trying to take everything into consideration. I know doctors are especially busy with covid going on but Dr. Solis took the time to listen, discover and uncover. She also is going to try to get me off of a medication, which is awesome. It was my first visit but I left with a wonderful feeling of actually being cared for and about.

Horrible!. I arrived early for my appointment at 4:30. A walk-in arrived 10 minutes later. The walk in was taken back first. When the nurse took me back for my appt at 5:00 she told me the doctor was finishing with a patient, then there was another patient before me. I asked if it was the walk-in. She stated yes. I said why didn't he go to Urgent Care. She stated that is the way they operate and his situation was more urgent. I told her I didn't think that was fair to me. Doctor comes in the room, obviously angry and annoyed. Asks me about my appt issue. I stated to tell her and she interrupted me. And stated "I took you first" She continued to be terse and annoyed throughout the appointment. At the end she tells me about the referral to the endocrinologist and adds... "but she isn't going to coddle you!" WHAT!!! Coddle me. I went as quickly as possible and used all of my communication skills as a therapist to deal with this doctor.
