Dr. Maria Virna Evangelista, MD

Dr. Evangelista was not my regular OBGYN, but I had to see her in the absence of my physician. She was very cold and spoke to me in a condescending manner. It was as if I was inconveniencing her by having an appointment to which I arrived on time and was polite and courteous as usual. I wanted to cry after she left the room because I've never had such a negative interaction with a medical professional.

I guess not every dr is good for everyone. I went to Evangelista for the first time and it was the last! Terrible experience and embarrassing. She will make you feel uncomfortable as uncomfortable as it’s already is having someone to look at your private area. She is the worst Obgyn in my life!

Dr Evangelista is wonderful! I’ve been going to her for the past 17 years, and now my grown daughter sees her too. She is kind, thorough, and I never feel rushed at an appointment. I’m not sure why there would ever be a negative review about her. Do yourself a favor and make an introductory appointment to meet her so you can make an informed decision, rather than relying on reviews.

My experiences have always been great. I’ve been seeing her as my OB for several years. She always takes enough time answering any questions I have. I also love her nurse that she has had for several years. I find Dr. E to be very nice, friendly and informative.

Dr. Evangelista Isn't My OBGYN THANK GOD! But, She Was On Call The Night I Needed Some Answers And I Felt Like I Was Talking To A Brick Wall. She Was Trying To Rush Me Off The Phone, Acting As If She Hated Her Job And I Could Tell She Didn't Really Care About My Situation So I Didn't Bother To Take Any Of Her Advice. I Just Waited For My Doctor's Office To Open Up To Talk With My Amazing Doctor. I Was Going To Pray For Her Over The Phone Because I Know She Must Be So UnHappy In Life But, InStead I Just Hung Up And Prayed For MySelf Because I Didn't Want Her Bad Energy To Affect My Mood. She Is An UnKind Soul And Should Not Be A Doctor

I did not have a pleasant experience with Dr. Evangelista. My experience was awful. I am usually not one to leave reviews, but I want to let others and the clinic know that there needs to be some sensitivity training. It was very shocking to see that this is how female patients are treated when she , herself, presents as female. She shoved the pap smear tool inside of me without any warning and said "oh you never had a pelvic exam before." This is patient's body you are dealing with, and this is not how anyone should be treated by anyone, let alone a doctor. I would not recommend her services. I chose to see her because there were no other appointments available and I had an urgent issue that was causing discomfort, but I will not be seeing her again.

Awful.......it's been a while since she was my doctor, but I remember it very well. I was pregnant with my 2nd child (had a different doctor with my first, in Indianapolis). I was also 37, had gestational diabetes with my 1st pregnancy, and was overweight. After that 1st visit with Evangelista, I was beside myself in tears. Her attitude was despicable. She made me feel guilty for being pregnant at all, given all the issues I had with my first pregnancy. I changed doctors and never saw her again, thankfully. She honestly deserves ZERO stars.

She was my obgyn over 12 years ago, and I still cannot get over how poorly she treated me. I was pregnant and found out pretty late at almost 5 1/2 months, she gave me 3 different delivery dates, when checking me with the papsmear like tool I just recall her being extremely rough all the time, when I complained of pain when she was down there she said and I quote, "If u can do adult things, u can lay here like an adult while I do what I need to do" while being even more rough. Her attitude always came off as if she didn't like me nor want me as her patient. At the time I was a teenager, and a foster child so its not like what I had to say really mattered when it came to speaking up about her. Im almost 30 now and I will never forget how terrible she was. She actually ended up not even delivering my child by the grace of God, she happened to not be available. I do feel like had she been me nor my child would be here today. She also had me on depo vera shots for 6/9 mos of my pregnancy

I have heard horrible things about Evangelista and she's the 1 doctor out of 5 I did not want to be on call... I had 150/120 blood pressure. Was told my baby and/or myself could die. She told me to come back in 2 days. I was 40 weeks pregnant! Thankfully my doctor trumped her and came in to special me. Why be a doctor if you don't care about people's lives? The nurses also told me they don't care for her and if you're not her patient she treats you terribly. I pray she leaves the practice.

I’m only giving her 1 star because it makes me, she’s not worth that much. I went to her to get an IUD. I told her I wanted the copper iud, she told me she didn’t agree with my decision but whatever I want! I went with what she told me, mirena, she didn’t explain anything, shoved it in without any warning, was SO rough! And laughed after she inserted it asking if I understood why the small one was necessary. 1 year later and a lot of Pain while having it, it was put in wrong the entire time!!

This past weekend I gave birth to my daughter at Memorial. Dr. Evangelista was the dr on shift while we were there. This doctor was extremely rude and had the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever seen. When checking me for dilation, she was very rough and didn't bother explaining what she was doing. She went on to tell me how I was hysterical and needed to calm down. She also insisted that I get an epidural even after I told her I didn't intend on getting one. You do not want this dr.
