Dr. Marie Hennelly, MD

This doctor claimed to have reviewed my labs. She wrote 'all labs looked good.' But this turned out not to be true - when I received the medical record I saw that I had tested positive for staph before her note was written. She should have noted the positive infection and informed me about it. Furthermore she claimed I had no signs of infection despite the fact my leg was swollen to mid-calf (from a toe infection) I was nauseous and unable to stomach food and also I had developed gangrene - all signs that not only was I infected but that the infection was spreading to my whole system. By the time I was finally diagnosed I had already been diagnosed with Sepsis and Osteomyelitis (things we could have avoided if Dr. Hennelly had bothered to read the labs she claimed to have.) Furthermore she used this false information to deny my transfer to an emergency room - which could have given a needed 2 to 3 nights of IV antibiotics to eradicate any threat to the bone in my toe. Nearly died.

After an amputation from an infection which it was clearly recorded the amputation was due to an infection - and I had developed Sepsis - and there was a positive Staph test for it 5 weeks before - and though all MDs wrote it was of an f/x - she refused to attribute my amputation to infection just as weeks before she dened my admit to an ER because of her "low suspicion for infection." As if diabetics cannot get infections ! No diagnosis for 6 weeks despite large swelling and redness all the way to mid-calf, gangrene, and nausea. Her blissful ignorance of the reasons behind me losing two toes (and now 5 years of grief) and nearly dying have been a great cause of emotional distress. It was shocking to read her statements to the DOH - that not only denied responsiblity for the lack of a diagnosis - but seemed to deny I ever had an infection. Well the rest of my 8 toes have not just "vanished" yet or deteriorated at all. I nearly died because of her and I am now a 3-toed freak very upset
