Smart, caring and knowledgeable.
She is the best! She is very caring and explained everything very well so I could understand. No complaints whatsoever.

Lacks Knowledge and Compassion
Dr. Sanford does not possess the qualities of a good doctor. She is a terrible communicator. She lacks compassion. She does not listen. She does not pay close attention to a patient's health history or needs. She's dismissive and rude when she should be supportive and kind. When I went to a doctor in the Lower 48 to seek more competent and compassionate care, it was apparent that all of my instincts were correct. After being Dr. Sanford's patient and never missing an appointment or test, I now have advanced breast cancer. Save yourself this misery and find a better doctor, preferably out of state.

Dr. Sandford's communication with her patients is about the worst I have seen in a doctor. She did not explain what to expect during my surgery, or what margins she wanted before the surgery. She took out 20 times more tissue than was needed and then told me "my questions were becoming unreasonable" when I asked her about it. Nancy Nigge in her office is also incompetent - apparently unaware that tight sports bras or a compression bra will resolve seromas and needle aspiration is not always necessary. In 2020 a friend who had been seeing her for 7 years got a mammogram. The radiologist saw abnormalities and recommended a MRI, which Sandford did not communicate to my friend, nor did she order a MRI. Cancer was detected after a 2021 mammogram and a biopsy and now my friend is in another state being treated for metastatic breast cancer because the MRI did not happen in 2020.

I would make a point of telling friends not to go to her . She recommended a mastectomy for a small tumor in my breast . All of my other Doctors recommended a lumpectomy . I am older and had Blue Cross insurance . The only thing influencing her decision was the extra money she would make .She even lied to me about a conversation she said she had with the rest of my caregivers .At one point she said it’s very important to trust your surgeon . I believe that going against her recommendation might result in me developing lymphedema . Dr. Sandford cares more about her pocketbook than her patients .

I cannot day enough good about my entire experience. Dr Sandford explained everything and even sends chart notes in a few days so you can review. Nancy the nurse is super in the same way. I found all the staff extremely friendly, professional and supportive. I highly recommend Dr Sandford for more reasons than I can list

Dr. Sandford's office was awesome! They got me in right away and even stayed open late to make sure I could be seen the same day I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The office manager was so sweet, she offered me a payment plan for surgery costs so everything was really affordable. I'm incredibly lucky to have them as my doctor's office, I would recommend them without any reservation whatsoever.

If you are looking for a physician who will fight for you, Dr. Sandford is your gal! She is knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, driven, and thorough. I have never met a provider as driven as she is to make sure all of her patient's needs are met.
