Dr. Marina Galea, MD

Worst Dr of her profession. Over schedules and has the gaul to even see a pharmaceutical rep while the waiting room is full of patients, some already waiting 2 or more hours to be seen, sitting in every available chair and on the floor. Does not have office receptionist regularly, or didn't when I saw her, so all the patients are alone with each other, tempers rising . remember this is a psychiatric office. The time spent with each patient is minimal, most refilling prescriptions and bye bye. Never ever apologizing for the wait, never interacting with me, or making eye contact. I knew I deserved better and found someone caring, made herself available, knew time management , had a staff for appointments and billing, and with consistent 5 stars rating.

Dr. Galea looks to get her $$ before any consideration is given to the patient. The beginning of every appointment was a discussion on how much money I owed, even when I didn't owe any. I went to Dr. Galea for anxiety and the basic interactions didn't help. I found a new provider.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Galea for years. She has helped me work through major traumatic events I’ve experienced in my life. She is knowledgeable, professional and trustworthy. She has empathy for her patients and has always been supportive of my needs and concerns. My insurance plan changed and I pay out of pocket because she is worth it. My health and peace of mind it’s all that matters to me.

Lacks empathy, very poor appointment time length/limit Forgets things (about my patient history/diagnosis etc.) Has very poor receptionists (at least from when I went in 2016-18) No billing dept/poor Ins billing skills. Only plus is that Wallgreens is right across the street if you need to purchase medication.

A waste of 2 hours and $30. I had been told that she did remote appts. Since we are in the midst of a pandemic I wanted to see her remotely. I was told I had to come come in for the first time to fill out paperwork. I inquired if there was a way to e-sign, or have the paperwork emailed to fill out before hand. The answer was no. I asked for confirmation that she would in fact do remote appts once I filled out the paperwork. The receptionist repeatedly didn't understand the question and kept saying I had to come in to do paperwork. I patiently (and I think) politely said I was asking for after the first appointment. The answer I got was the doctor had to see me then decide. Fair enough. Once there I waited over an hour to be seen. She was a bit cold but seemed knowledgeable. When I asked about remote appts she said she only did them for clients she had seen for years. I told her this was not a good fit. Infuriatingl behind the times. There was no computer and only took cash.

She is a HORRIBLE person not even worthy of being called "Dr." She is cold, doesn't talk or try to help you. When I tried to talk she said I "talked too much." She has no EMPATHY whatsoever. You walk in, she writes a RX, and you leave. Robots would have more personality. As a psychiatrist she exhibits shameful behavior. A selfhelp book could give you more knowledge than her.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone, she does not care. All she cares about is overfilling her appointment book in order to make as much money as possible. Disgraceful! She is incredibly cold, and the appointments are always very short. She does not bother to get to know you, or how you much you may suffer on a day to day basis. It means nothing to her. Also, even though my insurance was perfectly valid, I was made to pay full price in cash the first visit. UNETHICAL!

She doesn't really listen to you, and makes you feel bad if you ever want to stop medication.
