Heartless
Dr. Lacouture demonstrates a complete lack of regard for the emotional well-being of his patients. I was referred to him by my oncologist, and when the condition worsened, he refused to follow-up even though he continued to prescribe ineffective drugs. His office referred me to a book publisher for medical treatment, and even refused repeated requests to release certain medical records. This has resulted in a formal complaint being sent to the NYS Office of Professional Medical Conduct. Update: After 6 weeks of asking, and the complaint mentioned above, they finally came through! Save yourself the headaches and go to someone else!

My experience has been wonderful with Dr. Lacoture and his staff. EVERYTHING he has prescribed for me has worked. Any tone I call his office they respond almost immediately. He is thorough, friendly but professional at the same time. I think he is a fantastic Dr with an awesome office staff.

Arrogant, condescending and disrespectful. Self-verified patient of Dr. Mario E Lacouture - Posted on February 11th, 2020 My husband was sent to see him because of a rash that he had from being in a clinical trial at MSKCC. The first time we saw him he seemed friendly and prescribed medication for my husbands rash. The rash spread to his whole body. The second time we saw him he was rude, arrogant and not at all interested in my husband. He told my husband that he had “turned the corner and was on the mend” even though the rash had started to blister. Within a few days my husband was hospitalized, in intensive care and then sent to the burn center at Cornell hospital. He was suffering from T.E.N.S., in extreme pain and losing his skin. He past away a short time later. This doctor Was so unprofessional, rude, arrogant and uncaring. I wouldn’t recommend him at all. I don’t even know why he is still at MSKCC. He is the only doctor at MSKCC that I have met that I had no confidence in.
