How to game the US healthcare system.
Overall a "meh" experience with the doctor on the day of the visit. She wasn't very personable but was thorough with her questions and exam. She spent 20 minutes with us to determine there was nothing obvious wrong with my daughter didn't require additional tests or procedures. There were optional blood tests but we opted out. The BIG surprise was how much we were charged for the office visit. Apparently it is the norm to code and to charge the highest level complexity that can be billed regardless of the actual complexity. Lesson learned I should have asked what charges to expect before I made the appointment. Probably won't be an issue with patients that have co-pay insurance. Those with high deductible plans, ASK what will be charged before making the appointment or expect a high bill from this doctor.

Heartless
I unfortunately had the worst experience with Dr. Marisa Izaguirre… heartless is what she and her staff are. My 12 month old has had GI issues his entire life and had a serious choking incident recently which led us to getting a referral to Dr. Izaguirre. We eagerly waited 2 months for the soonest appointment. I confirmed my appointment online two days before, and submitted my check in information and paperwork the night before. I live over an hour away traveling with a 12 month and had to find childcare for my other children. There was a lot of traffic and I was unaware we would have to park in a large paid parking garage, so I was unfortunately 12 minutes late. I checked in with the front desk at exactly 1:12pm (my appointment was at 1) and was told that I missed my appointment and didn’t check in (they sent the check in link at 12:05pm while I was driving). I told them what happened and they didn’t care. The doctor herself said that I wouldn’t be seen.

My daughter had a telemedicine visit with Dr. Izaguirre with my presence and her mother presence last week. We find Dr. Izaquirre extrememly knowledgable and competent. She put my daughter and us at ease and was very professional and kind. She diagnosed my daughter's condition and explained in vey clear terms. Her treatment is working very well for my daughter. We are very happy with her.

I hate to leave a 1 star based on the doctor's nurse rather than the doctor's work herself. However I attempted already to reach the doctor and voice my complaints to the rest of the staff but no one seemed to care. The nurse Diana was so incompetent, never answers her phone and insulted my intelligence, then threatened to hang up on me. I also had to reschedule a procedure for my child, which ended up being postponed another week bc the nurse didnt check the fax machince. She said the girl who usually does that had been out of the office a few days, and checking the fax wasn't part of her normal job description. I don't have any complaints about Dr. Izaguirre, but I only met her twice, my issues are with the nurse Diana and I had to switch doctor's bc I couldn't keep dealing with someone like that every week.
