Dr. Mark Baucom, MD

Dr Baucom has performed two skin cancer Moh’s surgeries on me over the past three years. His high level of expertise paid off as I’ve been left with no visible signs of surgery. I’ve found Dr Baucom to be compassionate, confident, and competent. He’s a very skilled surgeon who excels at Moh’s surgery. He even follows up with with a phone-call to his patients the same day of surgery to see how they are doing. A very nice touch! I highly recommend Dr Baucom should you ever get that much-dreaded skin cancer diagnosis.

I was referred by Northside Cancer Institute as Dr Baucom is considered one of the best for Mohs surgery in Atl. I had 2 squamous cell spots on my scalp. The entire process from referral to discharge by Dr Baucom could not have been more positive. One of the first things he said to me was “I don’t need to shave the mohs areas.” I had immediate relief!! I’m a RN, so very critical of protocols. I could not have asked for better care, including follow up calls from Dr B himself after each procedure. I love the fact that he photographs his work to show & explain each step. It was a wonderful learning experience & practically pain free. His care, humor, expertise & staff - all wonderful. Plus he started me on over the counter Rogaine regime to help thicken some thinning areas of hair I had before coming to him for Mohs. Totally delightful experience! Highly highly recommend!!

Dr. Baucom has performed multiple surgeries on me over the years . .. nose and legs. Healing was straight forward without any problems. My nose surgery was amazing and no one can tell that I had skin cancer and surgery . He cares about his patients. He calls them at the end if the day of surgery. He takes the time to answer any questions his patients may have. I highly recommend him.

I was nervous going into the office, especially since I was recommended by another dermatologist. The entire staff was AMAZING. Dr Baucom was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job of reassuring me. The procedure went smoothly, and I was out of the office in no time. The icing on the cake is when he followed up several hours later to ensure I was fine and not in too much pain. That kind of service showed he truly cares about the well being of his patients.

Dr. Baucom has seen me 3 times in 2 months. two of those times for Moh's surgery. He is not only an outstanding doctor, but treats his patients with respect and a sense of humor. He also does this delicate surgery leaving almost no scaring. Dr. Baucom's staff is efficient and cordial.

Very professional with great a bedside Manor. Dr Baucom called me later that day at home to follow up with me to see how I was feeling from the surgery I had that day. First doctor to ever do that. I have to say, after being treated by this doctor, I wish I had not gone for surgery and received care under him. I went in for a consultation back in July of 2022 for a skin condition as a last resort when medication would not work. During that consultation, he explained how he could correct the issue with surgery. Prior to the actual date of surgery, I became very apprehensive and called his direct cell number to inform him of how nervous I was. I left a message on his voicemail since he didn't answer. Within an hour, I received a phone call from him reassuring me that I was making the right decision and he stated that if he didn't think it was a good idea, he would not recommend the surgery. With that reassurance, I decided to move forward with it. I had the surgery back in September of 2022. After several follow up appointments post-surgery, the condition still remains. The doctor and the entire staff were both professional and pleasant! The surgery was very impressive (I watched it) and given the size of the incision, it is hard to believe I had so little pain.

I can highly recommend Dr Baucom and his team. They are very professional, friendly and on time. Dr Baucom had to remove a cancerous spot from my lip to my chin and I underwent MOHS surgery. I had a cancerous spot on my nose and underwent MOHS surgery. I felt Dr Baucom was professional, kind, personable. Considering my problem this was the perfect place for me to go. The best of the best.

Dr. Baucom performed Mohs procedure on basal cell carcinoma on my nose. Procedure is known to be a long appointment for the patient but I was out in 3 hours. He is very competent and has a great staff. I since discovered that Dr Baucom did the same procedure on my family doctor and the cancer was on his lip and I had never noticed any surgery having been performed.

Dr. Baucom and his entire staff made me feel comfortable when I was very nervous. They showed true concern and they were extremely knowledgeable. From making the appointment to follow up they were all very professional but warm and caring. Dr. Baucom even called me personally to check on me later in the day.

I saw Dr. Baucom over a year ago to remove some bumps (syringomas) under my eyes. He could not have been nicer during the consultation and the procedure itself. The first time I went in to have the procedure done, I actually had to run out as soon as he entered the room because my daughter had an allergic reaction while at home with a babysitter; he was VERY understanding. I was very satisfied with the outcome of the procedure and would not hesitate to go back to him in the future.

I needed MOHS surgery on my face several years ago and my Derm. recommended Dr. Baucom. It was a nerve wracking experience to have your face cut on (in my case, three times to get clean margins) for most of the day, but the Dr. and his staff know their stuff and I was so glad I didn't go elsewhere. in the end, my scar is barely noticeable without makeup and not noticeable at all with it! The worst part for me was having the stitches taken out since I had no drugs for that. Dr. Baucom is fab!

If I could give my surgical experience 10 stars I would have. Dr. Baucom and his staff really treated me with the best possible care today. I had 2 previous skin surgeries performed by other doctors in another state to compare it to -- This was exceptional! I hope my scar heals as well as my experience.
