Above and Beyond!
I recently moved from Birmingham to Dothan and was referred to Dr. Ellis by my mother, as she is a patient. I found Dr. Ellis to be very kind and compassionate. I love that he doesn't keep his hand on the doorknob, but sits and talks with his patients and is genuinely concerned for others. His staff is also incredibly personable and helpful. At a recent visit, I left my billfold on the receptionist counter. Kendra called me and then even met me halfway to give it to me! I had a great primary care doctor in Birmingham and feared I would not be able to find one to compare in the Dothan area, but I have been so pleasantly surprised by Dr. Ellis and his staff!

HORRIBLE
I went in looking for a new pcp to start new treatment on my thyroid and continue my antidepressants only. I also had an upset stomach and sinuses were bothering me. He did nothing but told me I needed a psychiatric ward. WORD FOR WORD. The nurse at the front desk is the only little pleasure and joy in that whole building.

Good to be a patient.
Glad to be his patient. Dr. Ellis is listening and suggesting, never pushing. Very knowledgeable and well experienced. He cares and is very detail oriented. He goes out of his way in case of an emergency visit, and finds time for it.Very polite and an excellent listener. The best part is, Dr. Ellis works with Dale Medical Center, so everything lab work, x-rays etc is convenient.

BOTH MY WIFE AND I USE DR. ELLIS FOR ALL PRIMARY CARE. WE HAVE FOUND HIM TO BE VERY CAPABLE. HE TAKES A LONG TIME WITH US ON EACH VISIT TO INSURE ALL OUR QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED. OUR WAIT TIMES HVE BEEN VERY SHORT. HIS STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS. AFTER ONE YEAR AS OUR PRIMARY DOCTOR WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH DR. ELLIS AND HIS STAFF.

I saw this man this morning. He was very rude and seemed inpatient with me after I had waited over an hour to see him. I arrived at 8:55 for a 9:00 appt. and it was past 10:25 by the time I saw him. I am being medically retired from the military and I'm already not happy about it or the fact that I'll never deploy and go on missions again. Honestly, when people like him treat me this way...similar to the way the VA treats soldiers, it makes me regret my service. Really, what was the point of it?

extreme long waiting times, Dr. can not stand any critics, changes all of a sudden - without discussing this with you - long terms prescription from a generic 10$ copay to a brand new on the market medicine which cost you 250$ copay. and if you address this issue this you get kicked out of the office.
