AMD Wet
I was a patient of Dr. Levitan until yesterday. I need to get the shot in the eye for AMD wet. The shots given by him were extremely painful and at the last visit, we decided to try a small numbing shot before the real shot in the eye. It worked wonderfully and we agreed to this numbing technique going forward. Well yesterday, he was running late and just gave me numbing drops without my knowledge that he changed the method. The pain was excruciating. I even asked if he was going to give me the numbing shot first. He said yes. I have no faith in medical professionals who don’t care about their patients well being.

I wd like Dr. Levitan to not overbook his appts. He needs to add an extra week day to accommodate the volume of his patients! All of us have to sit and wait for three hours (per patient) to be seen. Thank you! Barbara Antunes

Very professional and very friendly
I like Dr. Levitan for several reasons, among them his knowledge, professionalism, and friendly and positive attitude. I have been seeing him for more than 10 years and he has been very consistent in his approach to my issue. Also, the staff at Austin Retina Associates is very good with their knowledge, responsiveness, and friendliness. Overall, I think Dr. Levitan and Austin Retina Associates is about as good as one can get!

Everyone is welcoming, very professional & each procedure is done in a timely manner. Dr. Levitan treated my Mom with her macular for many years prior to her passing & now he is treating me as well. I have trusted both the staff of Austin Retina and Dr. Levitan for several years. They always put me at ease and have done a super job helping to preserve my family’s vision.

Dr Levitan is really excellent at explaining all the options and keeping you informed. I have been dealing with severe wet macular degeneration for 6 years and my vision and quality of life is as good today as when the diagnosis was made. He is always improving his approach to make my treatments more comfortable. I could not be more satisfied with his professionalism.

As usual, Dr. Levitan took time to address my concerns. He was very sympathetic toward my pain during my eye injection and stated, "There are other ways to do this". A caring provider that gets results - that's Dr. Levitan.

His staff was courteous and the process was fast (eye exam, eye drops). Though the wait was too long, sat in the doctor’s office for 2 hours before I was able to talk to Dr Levitan. He thoroughly explained my situation and assured me things are getting better.

As with my previous annual eye exams for my diabetes, this was another uplifting experience. The entire staff is friendly, courteous, and professional; their attitude always makes my visit pleasant. Although there are many steps (pictures, eye test, etc.) before seeing Dr Levitan, the staff's friendliness and professionalism places me at ease during each step. The time with Dr Levitan is friendly and concise which I appreciate. I was worried after my ophthalmologist of ten years retired because of my rapport with him; but, Dr Levitan and his staff has made the transition seamless.
