Do Not Recommend This Doctor
I was referred to Dr. Pippenger for memory problems following a fall which caused a TBI. My experience with this doctor was terrible. He spent more time criticizing every other doctor on my care team and degrading other doctors in Charlotte in general. He was condescending and arrogant. Furthermore, he told me there's nothing wrong with me and there's no such thing as long term effects from a brain injury. He spent more time talking about his professional merits and downplaying my symptoms, while never offering any solutions or prognosis other than to tell me to stop taking all of my medications prescribed by other doctors because they actually cause dementia and memory loss, but a brain injury does not. He contradicted every medical opinion I've received from a team of doctors and I left feeling worse off than when I walked in, spent hundreds of dollars on the "extended office visit" and wasted 4 months of time that I had to wait to get this worthless appointment.

Dr. P saved my mother’s mind. While my mother does suffer from dementia, she had seen a psychiatrist who had put her on many medications that made her much worse. Dr. P helped her stop taking all of the harmful medications for her memory and cognition. He recommended the correct memory medicines. I wish he would publish his work for all patients and caregivers to learn. We wish he was still in Little Rock! He seems a bit quirky but he is well worth your time for memory help. I wish he would expand his practice and knowledge to genetics and targeted care with more emphasis on evidenced based supplements.

My mother was referred to Dr. Pippenger. The waiting room time was maybe 20 minutes or less. He was kind and spent a great deal of time talking with her and making her feel at ease. He was not rushed and certainly not "rude". He answered all of my questions and concerns. His staff was friendly and efficient. The UAMS My Chart system makes it very easy to get a prompt response when needed. Everything about our experience was positive.

Dr. Pippenger was very pleasant, However, he can be a little over the top. He is also a little narrow minded in his treatment plan. He stated that ARICEPT was the only medication available for my parent and recommended behavioral modification, as sedatives and anti-psychotics "cause death". Research shows that there are other meds on the market and that sedatives and anti-psychotics are routinely used by neurologist to improve their quality of life.. Looking for alternative neurologist.

Our family met Dr. Pippenger about 3 years ago for my mother. He is always very patient with her. He listened to all of our concerns. Very detailed in her treatment and progress. Yes, you might have to wait to see him but he is took his time with her and never rushes through the exam. He has been wonderful with her and we all LOVE Dr. Pippenger! Morgan Family

Dr. Pippinger was a waste of time in several different ways. 1. From a medical standpoint, I found Dr. Pippinger to be was than impressive to say the least. He seemed more interested in keeping my dad's business and remaining friendly, than delivering hard messages. 2. From a professional perspective, my father drove 3 hours to see this man and every time without failed waited anywhere from 1-4 hours in the waiting room before the doctor arrived. The man is a joke of a medical professional.

He took care of my dad he was always kind and listened to our concerns He would always spend a lot of time evaluating dad and documenting his decline. He was never in a hurry. Dr Pippenger diagnosed him wit PSP, progressive Supranuclear Palsy. I would highly recommend him

Dr. Pippenger spent time talking to my mom, myself and my sister. He wanted to know all about my mom. I like that he didn't shove meds at us right away. Instead, he gave mom physical exercise to do 3-4x a week. Dr. Pippenger makes you feel comfortable and relaxed by telling you about himself and his family. He's a very interesting man. Wait time to get in for an appointment is long, but I've been pleased so far.

I had my husband to five different doctors wasting at least 3 years of our time together before coming to Dr Pippenger. He took time with my husband, explained everything to us & I would highly reccomend him. He always answered my questions in office as well as if I contacted him through the UAMS Portal. He knows his stuff & never stops trying to learn more keeps up with studies in the field. My husband died one month ago from heart disease but everything Dr Pippenger told us was right on.

Rude and condescending. Seemed to be showing off for his interns instead of caring about the patient and questions about his diagnosis. Would not recommend this doctor.
