After a TBI that halted my military career and put me on med hold, I was panicked to get better, doing everything the doctors advised to ensure I’d get my career back. The most traumatic part was not the accident that caused the TBI, but going through my desperate attempt at recovery with Dr. Scialabba as my neurologist. He was berating, egotistical, uncaring, and even threatened to list me as a “non compliant patient” in my medical board if I didn’t get the injections he wanted to give me (that were injected incorrectly and left me with permanent droopy eyelids). I regret not filing an official complaint against him and getting a new doctor. At the time, he really did a great job of making me think I was the one with the brain injury and my rationality was not making much sense in many parts of our conversations. He reinforced my self doubt and self blame for not recovering fast enough or not doing everything right. I wonder how many TBI patients he’s done this to.

Dr. Scialabba is very comfortable behaving in an unprofessional manner. He cuts off and raises his voice with patients, shows very little concern for maintaining current understanding of patient's condition and generally shows himself to be unreliable and arrogant. After multiple interactions with him, I would never return for care.

This doctor is rude and egocentric. His ability to listen to his patients is extremely limited. It’s a shame he is allowed to treat people.

Find another doctor. Horrible. I wouldn't let this doctor near my goldfish, never mind a human.
