Found Dr. Shepherd to be very personable and nice personality. He’s done blood work and other test with first visit to help find solution for Uric acid kidney stones occurring frequently. I have another visit coming up and may not get much done as I won’t and can’t take medications prescribed. It’s hard for any doctor to treat me. One thing I wish with all doctors that see you is that they stop typing on a keyboard and talk to you one on one

Dr Shepherd was very rude and refused to help my daughter... when she clearly needed med for her thyroid. His bedside manners was one of the worse that we have ever experienced... but thankfully got into another Dr who is now helping my daughter.

My daughter has Turners Syndrome and we have been seeing Dr. Shepard for years and love him! He has always explained things and been very thorough, asking lots of questions. The only thing we don’t like is the loooong wait in the waiting room and then the actual exam room!

I have only seen Dr. Shepherd once recently about low testosterone and his research/diagnosis/solution hasn't been completed yet (its only been a few days since I saw him). But contrary to some of the other reviews,Dr. Shepherd seemed very interested in finding a solution, was very conversive, and had more personality that most doctors (most doctors are like drones...take one look at you, then give you a pill). We discussed my questions, my options, and the next steps. So far, I like him.

He talks more than he listens. He doesn't appear to care about your symptoms. I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and have horrible symptoms that haven't been helped by meds yet, even though my levels are "normal". He also refuses to test my reverse T3 levels because "it doesn't matter", even though they matter a whole lot in treating symptoms. I was made to feel like an idiot for asking for a medication combination that is very normal for other patients with my disease. I am switching doctors.

I went here after having several test by my GP and over 6 mo showing a growth from 1.7 to 3.5 nodule taking over the most of my left thyroid, and feeling like I was choking every time I eat for him to tell me it wasn't from my thyroid, that 3.5 mass, my tight choking feeling and massive hair loss and weightloss of 54# in 6 mo wasn't because of my thyroid he would suggest RAI (radiation) he brushed us off like he knew it all after 2 mins of reading my records he talked more than he listend!

After reading the surveys by others, I was hasitant to take my husband, especially to drive 80 miles, but it has been worth it. Dr Shephard and his staff has been efficient, professional, and very helpful. I would recommend him if you are a brittle diabetic. He has been God sent for us.
