It became quite clear that this Doctor is only interested in patients who either have cancer or who need surgery now. He is not interested in the "watch and wait" patients. I chose to go to Johns Hopkins for a second opinion and this infuriated this doctor. He told me that I needed to "pick a place and a Dr. and stay there." He refused to do any comparison between the MRI I just had done for this visit to the one from Johns Hopkins. He kept repeating that he had given me his opinion and that I should have ask my questions of JH while I was there. He then said he doesn't treat stress. Well that was clear but isn't stress about pancreatic tumors a part of the whole picture? He then told me to decide where I wanted to be, ( I thought I had, being that I was in his office) so I can stop wasting his time and mine. I am happy that I brough a friend who is versed in the medical profession to witness this unprofessional behavior. Unless your are critical avoid this man at all costs.

About 1993 I was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma. The young Dr. Talamonti was the recommended oncologist. He was superb even then. When I moved from Chicago, 2 years after that initial surgery, Dr. T personally arranged my transition to the leading surgical oncologist in my new location. You can't do better than Dr. Talamonti, he is extremely skilled and deeply caring.

Several years ago I found out I had cancer and we were devastated not knowing who to turn to. A close friend recommended Dr. Talamonti and called him for me. He called me back shortly and reassured me he would take care of me. My entire family will always be grateful to Dr. Talamonti for saving my life. He is one of the most skilled, dedicated, compassionate surgeons who truly cares about his patients.

In September of this year (2016) Dr. Talamonti successfully removed an 8cm tumor that was pressing against my pancreas. He came HIGHLY recommended by 3 independent and trusted sources. Throughout, Dr. Talamonti has spent as much time as needed to patiently explain things and answer questions. I really cannot say enough good things about him, and what I have written here is just a fraction of that. I will be forever thankful to God for leading me to this exceptional surgeon and godly man!

Despite his excellent reputation, Dr. Talamonti turned out to be a nightmare. He told me I had a pancreatic mass and needed a Whipple procedure. When he performed surgery, there was nothing wrong and as a result of the damage he did during surgery, I've been on IV and J-tube feeds for a year. After surgery when I told him something was wrong, he ignored me until I was so sick I ended up at the Mayo Clinic to fix the damage. Not to mention the $500,000+ spent on medical care. He ruined my life.
