Avoid Dr. Venturi at all costs!!
Dr. Venturi did my diep last August and 2 revisions this year. The diep went as good as can be expected but he failed to mention a few pretty important things even though I specifically asked him to give me a detailed description of what he would be doing. Revision #1–leading up to this surgery I was very clear what I wanted fixed. I wake up from surgery and only the R breast is fixed! Revision #2–he was supposed to fix 2 things on the L breast only. Woke up and he did it again!! He only fixed 1 thing but not the main thing I had been asking for since before revision #1!! He also did something to my abdominal incision which we never discussed. This 2nd surgery was completely unnecessary bc he could’ve and should’ve done both breasts in the 1st surgery. I can no longer trust him and now have to find another plastic surgeon to correct the issue. As if going through breast cancer and losing my breasts wasn’t traumatic enough!

Sheer Perfection in a plastic surgeon!
Dr. Mark Venturi (McLean, VA.) is an exceptional doctor, in both his skill as a plastic surgeon and his demeanor toward patients. From the first office visit, my husband and I felt at ease, it was as if we'd known Dr. Venturi for ages. He takes time during office visits and really listens, which is rare. He is relaxed and confident in what needs to be done, which, in turn, gives the patient confidence. Dr. Venturi directed the anesthesiologist to be aware of certain considerations for me personally, in what types of sedation I could tolerate. Because the anesthesiologist also listened to my concerns and worked closely with Dr. Venturi, I never felt so at ease going into surgery. I knew I was in competent and caring hands. Dr. Venturi corrected a previous Diep Flap surgery, done by another physician, that opened up on me after three years! In addition to Dr Venturi being amazing, his staff is one of the most pleasant and supportive group of people that I have experienced.

I am a BRCA1 patient, fallopian tube cancer survivor who had a nipple sparing surgery followed by a double mastectomy and eventually a DIEP flap with Dr. Venturi. This man is an ARTIST. I now understand why people who have done their research come from all over the country to be treated at NCPS. I am THRILLED with my outcome. He worked with me over the course of a year to create a step-by-step plan to ensure that my nipples were spared and that I would then have one surgery (the DIEP flap) rather than using implants that would then need to be changed out every 10 years (I am fortunate--not all cancer survivors have this option). My cancer removal surgery, although life saving, left my abdomen a mess. Now, you would never know that I have had 3 children. I CAN NOT say enough wonderful things about Dr. Venturi. Professional. Perfectionist. Perfect.

My wife had breast reconstructive surgery after double mastectomy (BRCA1) in May 2016. We can’t say enough great things about Dr. Venturi and his staff! After our 1st surgeon told us at the last minute that he had a conference to attend and needed to reschedule us, Dr. Venturi made himself available for us at the last minute and did an amazing job. My wife is thrilled with her reconstruction and he really did a perfect job. His bedside manner is outstanding and he made a stressful time so easy!

I can't say enough about Dr Venturi and his staff. He is an amazing doctor, who has given me amazing results. I am a breast cancer survivor who had a double mastectomy with expanders, then two implant revisions. He listens to your wishes, but also knows what is going to look best. He has proven that with me. If you didn't know, you might think I had a breast augmentation. He also uses a newer technique of using an over the pec procedure. I'm a gymrat and able to lift weights, etc. He's the best!

I am truly thankful to Dr. Venturi and staff for the ongoing support throughout planning my bilateral mastectomy/Diep flap reconstruction procedures. I am totally at a loss for words with my short journey; dx with breast cancer on 11.9.16 and due to my faith; I wanted to get "the ball" rolling towards both surgeries on 12.14.16 to afford going forward with my life. I am thankful to God for using Dr. Venturi as a vessel to assist me throughout my journey, he is indeed "THE BEST" at his craft.
