He was great. I've seen many doctors and its refreshing to see a doctor that tells you exactly how it is, the complete story. It was refreshing and very personal.

I saw him at the MVAMC for some issues with heartburn, GERD. He prescribed me Prilosec x2 daily 20mg for a month. While I was taking Prilosec I got diarrhea from it. When I reported this to him, he responded, "I haven't heard anyone complain about that for a long time." I then told him I quit taking the Prilosec and started drinking apple cider vinegar. He replied, "I do too everyday. How did you learn about apple cider vinegar working for heartburn?" In yet, he prescribes me a medication. SAD

Dr Gapany was excellent. He explained what he was doing, why he was doing it, and what he would do with the information he found during the exam. He also paid close attention when asked questions. My husband was pleased with Dr Gapany's treatment of him and I was pleased with his manner of giving information and letting us know his opinion and what he planned on doing in the future. All in all we were both very pleased with Dr Gapany. I should also say we saw him at the VA in Minneapolis.

In 2012 I found myself needing a surgeon after a thyroid cancer diagnosis. I was terrified. He explained the process so calmly and confidently that it put me at ease. He advocated for me with my insurance company when they didn't want to approve and overnight stay - they ended up covering it because of him. Made me laugh minutes before surgery when I thought I was going to pass out. The end result - in remission - with BARELY a scar. An astonishing medical professional. So great.
