The reviews on this site are unfortunately too accurate. Rude, condescending, arrogant and greedy. Cares more about profits than patient's well-being.

Dr. Bier has a poor bedside manner and a condescending tone. Totally off- putting for someone in his field and position.

Dr. Bier is one of the most empathetic psychiatrists I have ever had a relationship with. He does not fill time for ruminating about the pains of the past and, instead, steps out of the traditional toolbox of typical treatments for depression. He understands and explores the complexities of the unknown brain, and the relief found in a treatment that offers hope and a newly found will to live. He's a coach, who challenges me to practice finding joy in simple little moments, building confidence.

Dr. Bier referred us to an excellent comprehensive metanalysis of ketamine treatment, which indicated that my son was not a responder, and that he would get no benefit from more than 2-3 trials. Despite this, Dr. Bier kept pushing the full 6 sessions (at $450 a pop) and was defensive when asked about the findings, saying they didn't apply to the Princeton clinic. On the 5th session, my son had a new nurse, had no bump in mood, and only a large hematoma from improper IV. We discontinued.

Dr. Bier is a rather condescending psychiatrist. I have seen him several times for ketamine infusion as a possible solution to treatment resistant depression. While I received some mild benefit from the infusions, nowhere near as much as Dr. Bier suggested I might feel from such high doses. Contrary to what he told me at intake, when speaking to my father he suggested that I would need infusions forever. Dr. Bier seems more concerned with keeping his livelihood than the wellbeing of his patients
