Dr. Martin Hauptschein, MD

Very hard to get a hold of someone at the office or the Dr. himself. Made an appointment and waited for close to 2 months where the Dr. called a week prior and cancelled his appointment due to a holiday. I was told that I would get a call from the office which never happened.

I did not feel rushed. He seems to be a very knowledgeable and compassionate doctor.

I recently had an unfortunate series of poor experiences with Dr. Martin Hauptschein, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. During my visits, I encountered several issues that left me dissatisfied.Firstly, the communication was severely lacking. Dr. Hauptschein and his staff member Theresa seemed disinterested and rushed, making it difficult for me to express my concerns and fully understand the recommended course of action. This breakdown in communication created a sense of frustration and confusion.Moreover, I was disappointed by what I perceived as a lack of professionalism. Dr. Hauptschein's demeanor was dismissive, and I didn't feel that my health concerns were taken seriously. This aspect of the encounter greatly contributed to my overall dissatisfaction with the visit.The impact on my treatment was significant. I left the appointment feeling uneasy and uncertain about health concerns. This has resulted in me pursuing a new primary care physician.

i've been going to martin Hauptschein for years. i've had many "probes" in my life as i've suffered from hemorrhoids. not only is Dr Hauptschein difficult to get any real treatment from, other than ordering blood tests and drug tests (for some reason), but when he checked the status of my hems before a referral, he did it in a way that was so utterly violent, i was even more shocked than in pain. again, i've had this done by many proctologists, internists, general surgeons, family practitioners, etc. over the years and never never never has an experience like this happened. he has always had this somewhat sadistic vibe about him, but this was the culmination of it all. It reminded me of The Good Nurse.

Don't care to get back to Patients

This office is a joke. They don't return calls. When they pick up they immediately put you on hold and then forget about you. Eventually they don't even pick up the phone. It's as if they want you to give up. Even though this is the doctor my insurance assigned to me I ended up going to a walk-in clinic.

Excellent, caring. RETURNS CALLS! Spends a generous amount of time asking pertinent questions. Expert, excellent M.D.

Dr. Hauptschein is a very caring, well informed doctor who will fight for you

He has to be one of the most disinterested doctors I’ve had the displeasure of going to. You have to call the office to get any test results. Don’t bother leaving a message. They’ll never call you back. Now, don’t get me started on the staff. They are incompetent, lazy and have a “why are you bothering me”attitude. If you don’t have a choice of a PCP, then you’re stuck. If you do have a choice, “run, Forrest run.” The WORST OFFICE!

Extraordinarily knowledgeable physician with a depth and breadth of experience. If you want an unvarnished opinion on what you need to do to get healthy and stay healthy, this is the doctor that I strongly recommend.

Dr. Haupstein is an excellent physician i say one of the best. I trust him with all my health decision and HIS care. BUT his primary staff assistant Sara is a bully and gets away with the worst office behavior and attitude unprecedented

Worst doctor I have ever seen. Hard to get an appointment. The doctor ran some tests and a month later I had to call to follow up. They had to contact the lab, and a week later I finally got the results. I had to have a cholesterol test and then the doctor yelled at me when I told him I didn't want to take statins. All totaled, don't go there!

Unprofessional. Forgetful. Dated office, dated systems. Everything is on paper. Very inefficient. Difficult to get someone on the phone -- They only pick up 20-30% of the time. Referrals have to be mailed... MAILED! In 2017! Doctor barely remembers who you are. What's more, the doctor frequently and openly complains about other patients within obvious earshot of the waiting room. OOF!

This is a doctor that listens to you....Once you get to know him, you find he is a good listener and he listens well... He will work with you and not against you...He is more like a country doctor that cares for those that take the time to really explain their symtoms...I have had him as my primary doctor over 10 years and feel the many times he has been there at Cedars Sinai putting me back together again when I was at my worst is the doctor I would want by my side to heal me.

This doctor is, without a doubt, the worst doctor in all of Los Angeles. His staff is rude and they leave you on hold for 20 minutes at a time. The doctor himself is rude also. I've called 3 times asking for them to send me my blood test info and I still haven't received it. I was even in the office and they insisted on faxing it instead of giving me a copy. When I called to make an appointment so I could get prescriptions refilled, they told me the doctor didn't have any appts open for 3 months

Dr. Hauptschein is the most rude and inconsiderate Dr. that I have ever experience. Referrals take weeks if ever to get to you, it literally takes about an hour to see him for every visit, his staff is rude and slow, all of his data is on paper and gets lost every so often, if you have something sent to them from another Dr. they never get it the first time, they make promises that they never keep, they never call you back when they say they will, Dr. and staff give attitude. Always miserable.
