Dr. Marvin Maxwell, MD

Can’t say much about Dr. Maxwell since I’ve never met him and I’ve only seen his physicians assistants. The quality of care is mediocre. Communication can improve because I only get the receptionist to answer my medical questions even when I’ve requested to speak to a nurse or the physician assistant. When I finally got a nurse on the line she was very rude and unprofessional. I will be searching for another medical clinic for my serious health issues. But does a good doctor even exists these days? Not in Florida.

Overall Incompetent staff. Had blood drawn after going in for a flu shot for a preventative visit and saw on the portal that my cholesterol was 245. They never called me to discuss that, but the PA said something about it at my next years visit for that flu shot. Now they charged my insurance for a "follow up" visit because he "mentioned cholesterol" which is also now giving me a copay. I was supposed to have a bone scan and they said they would arrange that with Advent Health which they never did in 2022, and then again this year. Was there Nov 22, and to date they have not called in the order. They have threatened to put me in collections for the $10 copay that they wouldn't wave since they coded the appointment as "follow up" instead of "preventative". They said they wouldn't wave it since I waited too long to address it. The billing staff is poorly trained and should be replaced with a staff that can actually help the patients.

I have been seeing Dr Maxwell for several years and each time I feel healthier when I leave. His personality and upbeat demeanor are a welcome change from some other physicians. He genuinely cares about his patients and it shows in his work.

Dr Maxwell take his time to get to know you. He listens and reacts properly to your problems. So far he has been so helpful to both my husband and myself. We truly appreciate and recommend him

Have been a patient of Dr. Maxwell for just over 26 years. He is the kind of Dr. you can talk to & he takes the time to talk to you. I have recommended him to many of my friends as well as to some of his other providers. His staff is friendly & efficient, they know you when you walk in and call you by name. They tend to your needs. In my opinion you cannot find a better Dr or practice.

No one answers phone!

Dr. Maxwell is a caring, compassionate, and trustworthy doctor. He takes time to listen and assess my concerns and needs. He explains diagnosis, course of treatment, and procedures with details. For 15 years he has had the right diagnosis and treatment for me and other family members.

The most caring compassionate Dr I have ever met. Always take his time to listen to your concerns. Been with him for 24 years and wouldn't want anyone else. Always refers you to someone else who can help you when he can't.

Dr. Marvin Maxwell is the best doctor I've ever visited. He listens carefully, asks thought-provoking questions to help you articulate your concern, and provides options and solutions. He also makes you feel cared about and reassured that you are in competent hands. Very highly recommended!

I have been a patient of Dr. Maxwell for over 20 years. He is caring, compassionate and thorough. He does not hesitate to call in specialists if he deems it necessary. I would recommend him to anyone although I also know that he personally does not take on many new patientsbut he does have others in the practice that do.

Dr. Maxwell is a true sweet heart., I've been a patient of his for a few years. Every time I see him he listens to my concerns and always answer my questions, and he is never in a rush, this means a lot!

Dr. Maxwell did not accept me as a patient. Only found out because called back after lapse of time. No good explanation. After being turned down by Dr Lim did I begin to understand that if you go to pain management Doctors or take such meds that you are blackballed Unfit. Though these Doctors are my AARP United Health Care Providers Doctors they deem persons in pain pain or anxiety unfit to treat. Not acceptable Dr. behavior nor Health Care Provider Ignorance. Am 70:year young recovering from radiation from cancer. Won battle with cancer and triple bypass. Yes am in pain at times. But walk to one hour n a half most days. Have an old friend Mr. Arthritis with me, have conditions which cause me pain but am not an abuses of meds. Dutiful will go to an Orthopedic Pain management doctor to be validated. Not an abuser, just looking for a caring Primary Care Doctor like I had In Cape Coral. To care for me and validate my much needed referrals. Thank you. Ps Dr Maxwell team never got back

Staff very unprofessional. I was told I could only see a Nurse even though it was my first visit & I was in acute pain from a UTI. Since I had taken AZO for pain the tech said my urine sample was no good which was not true. Then I was told the nurse refused to see me bc I asked too many questions. I went home crying from pain & didn’t know what to do since this was a new area. I called my insurance & she helped me find a walk in clinic where they checked my urine & prescribed the meds I needed.

Although I have not seen Dr. Maxwell, his Nurse Practitioners (Richard, Sally and Beth) are outstanding. I would recommend this practice to all.

Charge patients without their prior knoweledge or concent for their serivces than later ignore the calls and do not make effort to solve the issues.

This man cares about your well being and finding out what the causes of any problems are. He uses common sense and years of experience in various settings to discuss with the patient possible causes and approaches to solutions. He listens and takes his time. Not an ounce of arrogance or presumption in him. Yet, he seems to know from a world of experience the direction to take. His referrals have been good for the most part. Lower rating on staff refers to the administrative staff.

He takes time to explain his reason for treatment and is able to make references to other specialty physicians if needed before you leave the office.
