I love Dr. Fakih so much ! He saved my mom’s life. Words can not express my appreciation for him. He is very caring, and careful toward his patients, and the best at what he does. I can’t recommend & thank him enough.

Knows colorectal cancer better than anyone
Dr. Marvan Fakih is a remarkable oncologist specializing in gastrointestinal colorectal cancer. Facing stage three rectal cancer as a physician, I sought multiple opinions, and all roads led to him. His dedication, knowledge, and extensive experience have made him a leader in the field. Dr. Fakih actively engages in research and scientific meetings, shaping the future of colorectal cancer care. His compassion and expertise provided me with hope and strength. He's not just a doctor; he's a hero in the fight against this disease, deserving of every honor. Thank you, Dr. Fakih for your invaluable presence in my life.

Been a patient for 9 yrs. Initial diagnosis of St 1-2 colorectal CA via colonoscopy. Eventually was St 4 since it went to lungs. Worried at initial visit since my son was only 14. I’m still here. Saw him graduate HS, BA & MBA. Dr. Fakih is very smart as echoed by many physician, fellows, & residents I’ve encountered. His delivery is professional and can be “clinical”. Didn’t candy coat things, but I truly appreciate a physician like this. Yes, CA has come back to various areas. However, that’s how CA is. It’s a tiny seed. It can travel. Having come to City of Hope first, and not deal with a local Md or hospital along with Dr Fakih’s care has saved my life. I will forever be grateful to him & the team at City of Hope.

I saw Dr Fakih as a second opinion and I was so glad I did. He was very informative. My first Oncologist didn't even show me the image or where the cancer was or even a prognosis. I left my first Oncologist with so little information. Dr Fakih was very helpful, experienced, and educated and gave me straight information that is so much more helpful in making my decisions related to Chemo etc. I didn't have a problem with his bedside manner at all. In my opinion is a very very good doctor. I have Stage 4 Colon Cancer that has spread throughout my abdomen and is too advanced for surgery or HIPEC. My first doctor never told me any of that. I wasted my time with my first Chemo - that the first doctor recommended. I am so glad that I drove over an hour to see Dr Fakih. I don't why I would see a doctor to lift my spirits - I want the facts and help planning my decisions. I don't need a pep talk from a doctor.

Poor bedside manner and will make you feel hopeless. Seems to gear his conversation in leading patients towards trials. CEA in 0-5 range and he made me feel terminal. He may be good but I wouldn’t know it. It would help to know if he has actually helped someone.

My mom is a patient of Dr. Fakih and although she just recently began treatment for stage 4 colon cancer, we already feel very comfortable that we're in good hands. Dr. Fakih comes very recommended by his peers and it's no wonder once you begin working with him. He's been very responsive to my mom's needs and has demonstrated that he cares about her well being. We're lucky to have found him.

Cold disposition. Lacked even a modicum of sympathy. Started arguing when told that he had said 'such and such'. Claimed he didn't...but he did. Demeaning and impatient with a patient crying. Unless he thinks he can come out smelling like a rose after treating a patient, he won't even offer to do so. Don't even step foot in his office if you have anything more advanced than stage 1 cancer, because he will make you feel hopeless. Answers are curt and rude, just like him. Why is he a doctor?
