EXTRAORDINARY CARDIOLOGIST
I have been a patient of DR. Mihyu for two years and could not be happier with the excellent care he gives to me. He is very skilled, knowledgeable, professional most of all, thorough. I am so thankful that he takes the time to make a complete evaluation that includes tests, labs and a thorough study of my cardiac health. In addition, he is very kind and considerate. I highly recommend Dr. Mihyu.

This doctor is not for me
Dr Lew was my original cardiologist and was excellent except for wait times. Was transferred to Dr Mihyu. He is not prepared and seems like he is waiting to retire. Has no personal repor skills. I am changing Doctors.

Perfect timely care
I needed an evaluation of chest tightness. I was recommended to Dr. Mihyu from my GP. On my first visit, Dr. Mihyu carefully read my history and symptoms. While there was a small chance that I had a heart problem, Dr. Mihyu told me that based on the symptoms, an echocardiogram and nuclear stress test would tell him everything he needed to know to evaluate. Shortly after my echocardiogram, I got a call from the staff saying it was normal. After my stress test, the staff told me that it was typically 5-7 days to get results. But the very next morning, I got a call to see if I could come in that day. I saw Dr. Mihyu who explained that everything was normal. He was very personable and as someone who was worried, I appreciated that he took the time in less than 24 hours to give me the results and alleviate the worries. While it's true that he sometimes appears abrupt, I found him to be a very competent, respectful and incredibly knowledgeable doctor. I will definitely see him again.

Dr. Mihyu has been my doctor for several years and in my opinion he is underated. He has helped me often relative to medical issues with my heart and I have had many. I am 83 years old and have congestive heart failure, AFib, two artificial valves, a pacemaker etc. I believe he is one reason I am still on this side of the grass. I read the other reviews and think they are too critical. If you ask the right questions,he will give you the right answer. All doctors are busy but he will never stop the visit if you ask him to go over whatever you did not understand.

He was the cardiologist on hospital duty when my husband was hospitalized for a stent implanted by another doctor from the same group. He came into the room and wasn't even sure what my husband was in there for until my husband told him. He tested his breathing, looked at his puncture wound, and said my husband would be discharged that day, then left. That was it. No questions or concerns. No personality whatsoever.

The care provided was sadly memorable and downright awful. Dr Mihyu does not explain what he is doing or why. Patient rapport is critical and he doesn’t get it. He does not take a holistic approach to treating his patients. Instead he focuses on improving one or a few parameters without regard to what factors may affect a patient’s condition. He has no concept of confounding factors, as in my patient’s heart is giving me bad stats on a given test because something else is causing it. He does not look for root causes and only treats symptoms. He does not appear to have a firm grasp of what is happening to his patients. After choosing a course of action, he is unable to articulate his strategy. He comes to the patient unprepared to explain what he is doing. Is this really the best that modern medicine had to offer? Doctors can research their patients’ conditions and consult with colleagues. He chooses to do neither.

Not happy with this doctor. I should be on cholesterol meds. He does not want to put me on them. He said for me to eat vegan. My insurance. And my gastro doctor even said that I should be on cholesterol meds. Will change docs.

Dr. Mihyu is probably a competent cardiologist but he is always in a hurry and does not review the patient's chart before coming into the exam room. As a result, he peppers the patient with questions about meds, symptoms, procedures while he is shuffling through charts or looking at the computer screen. Even when patients such as my parents (who are 93, hard of hearing, and 86, dementia) cannot spit out rapid answers he continues to spout questions mixed with diagnostic information.

I saw Dr. Mihyu for the first time at the Leesburg Office. Appointment time was met and I saw him quickly. He quickly got to the issues I had with a-fib and PVC. He suggested a course of action quickly for echo, stress test, Holter and a mild blood thinner. Tests are yet to be scheduled and prescription was not called into my CVS. I had to call back and found answering system lengthy. I will report back on further developments but first visit was better than expected based upon reviews.

Dr. Mihyu saw me for 2 yrs. I stopped seeing him when he insisted that I take a medication that has a toxic combination effect with another of my meds, is off label use for my condition (a-fib), and is not effect in treating that condition in chronic cases. He does not listen to concerns and generally seems disintersted.

Reckless, dangerous recommendations. Doesn't appear to look at nurses vital signs and recommends same meds when pulse is very low. When pointed out pulse rate to Dr, he decreased meds. And come back in SIX months!!! This was a new MI and CHF patient, new meds to her, A week out of hospital.
