Dr. Carroll removed an over active parathyroid gland. The surgery and recovery went very smooth. Blood calcium levels returned to normal. She did a great job!

Aggressive and Narcissistic
This Dr dismissed my lab results. Normal is 4.0 I am at 0.02. She refused me medication which I had for 13 years before I went into remission 8 years ago. Her answer to these results were 'it could be temporary and to get labs done again in three months.' She refused to message me back in my Mychart leaving me feeling unwell for a week. When I finally got in again she refused to admit anything wrong on her end and kept telling me I was acting and treating her the way she was treating me. Very unusual behavior which I noticed the first visit with her but tried to not read too into it, but now was assured. Do not see this Dr if you care about your health!

Caring, Knowledgeable, Excellent Specialist
Upon receiving an unexpected diagnosis with my thyroid I was referred (by my Internal Medicine Doc) to see Dr Carroll. From 1st appointment, to biopsies, to surgery referral & ongoing care I’ve felt 100% secure. Dr Carroll takes her time, explains everything while delivering compassionate care. Her team is also impressive and supportive.

Knowledgeable, effective, caring, and present
I have been working with Dr. Carroll for Grave's thyroid disease since 2018. She listens well, asks good ?s to gather relevant information/data, treats me like a person and worthwhile collaborator in my own health care. She keeps current on research and applies what she knows with her experience to my particular circumstances so treatment is tailored to me. The outcome has been both that my thyroid routine blood tests have always been within the normal range while at the same time reducing my Rx dosage by 70%. While I might hope to write something similar to the above about many providers, that has not been the case recently. I began seeing Dr. Carroll after being "fired" by another seemingly well regarded male endocrinologist for reporting my change in symptoms (for the worse) after he had significantly increased my Rx dosage, and I wondered via text "whether the change in Rx might be too rapid?" His arrogance and unwillingness to observe the facts ended up being a gift in disguise!

Knowledgeable & Thorough
Mary is a well versed endocrinologist. I see her for Type 1 diabetes consultation and she definitely allows me to have an active say in how I manage my disease. As well, she treats many endocrine issues that are not diabetes, which is beneficial because knowledge is power when it comes to helping a patient. She is not chatty and works fast but she does listen well.

I really like Dr. Carroll. I've heard people describe her as very to the point... all business as it were. I find her to be friendly and very professional. I've been seeing her for three years and she definitely warms up some, as she can come off a bit rigid through the first few exams. Always gives thorough exams and listens to me concerning my thoughts on medication. Overall great doctor and would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Carroll was a great listener. She provider great information and made sure my questions were answered. She had specific tests done to rule out other problems before we spoke about medication. I am a retired RN and I have high expectations for the physicians I see for my health. I gave Dr. Carroll high marks as my physician.

Been treated by Dr. Carroll for a total of 4 visits, & each time she was dogmatic, curt, & rushed my visit. To make it worse, I waited up to 30 minutes after being in the exam room for each visit. No apologies from anyone. No regard for alternative medicine practices or any recommendations other than her own. Completely disregarded as hype the highly-specialized services of a parathyroid clinic that has revolutionized parathyroid surgeries. Insisted I would get the same results from a Bend surgeon, which turned out to be very false (a local surgeon required up to 4 hours for the procedure vs. the 45-minute procedure I received with less risk). Reacted to a medication, called her office, assistant said to stop taking it, but Dr. Carroll NEVER checked in with me then scolded me for being off the medication & suggested my reactions were false! Unbelievable. Interrupts questions, gives emphatic responses, never asks if I have more questions. Looking elsewhere. Should report her.

Cold, didn’t listen well, I felt rushed and largely ignored during my visit. She recommended meds that contradicted her explanations and didn’t respond to messages regarding this. I’d look elsewhere.

I am shocked and disgusted at some of the disrespectful and unfair comments made about Dr. Carroll because this is not the Dr. Carroll that I know!! I have been a patient of her for many years, and she has always treated me professionally, politely, listened and answered my questions satisfactorily. Her treatment plans work well for me, and I am thankful for that. I do not "blame" Dr. Carroll for having to wait sometimes for a while until she is ready for me. She does not need me, but I need her, so it is not a big deal for me. My advice for impatient patients: Take a book and get over it! Dagmar H., Bend

I am healthy now because of the treatment provided by Dr. Carroll. At 73, it is unusual to actually improve over the year. If your thyroid is doing it’s own thing, this is the right doctor.

I saw Dr. Carroll. She kept me waiting for an hour. She walked in and said, You don't have hashimoto's! You are just hypothyroid. I was diagnosed 15 years ago, thyroidperoxidase is 1100, ultrasound shows enlarged thyroid with multiple tumors and holes. I have seen multiple endocrinologist in another state. She must've been looking at the wrong chart. I am a registered nurse. She would not listen. She should quit practicing. Arrogant, disrespectful, negligent.

Misdiagnosed me, insulted me, treated me like garbage, and acted like she had authority/power over me the entire visit. Absolutely disgusting doctor that should not have a license to practice medicine. I will be filing a formal complaint and perhaps pursuing legal action. Consumer beware!

Worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I have tachycardia. The nurse didn't take my vitals and made up my heart rate of 76. I watched her just write down numbers on a piece of paper. I was completely dismissed. I waited months for this appointment, no tests were done and I was told I was fine.
