Dr. Mary Hackney, MD

I was assigned Dr. Hackney in Aug 2021 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I met with her once. When my chemo treatments started, I mostly dealt with her clinical nurses. After a 2nd chemo treatment, I became very ill. Left a message for her & did not hear back for 8 hours-only a cursory call from her nurse who said she would have Dr. Hackney return my call. I was advised to take an anti-nausea pill when I was throwing up and had a fever. The next morning I ended up in the emergency room for a surgery which set me back with my chemo treatments & caused lots of complications with further treatment I was later told by several doctors that she should have admitted me to the ER that afternoon but it was Friday & I don't think she wanted to be bothered. I always held Massey in the highest of regards. After this experience, I think the doctors have too many patients & can't give the attention that a patient needs -I was very disappointed and moved my oncology care to another provider

Dr. Hackney is a top notch doctor; she is thorough, kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable and leaves no stone unturned in her efforts to find the best available treatment. She is inclusive of other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care through a medical team effort. I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Mary Helen Hackney.

This doctor is a great listener and very knowledgeable. She is compassionate, patient and takes a personal interest in your individual situation. Her explanations are very understandable for the average patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Hackney.
