Please read before entrusting your well being and mental health to Mary Beth Valiulis, M.D. Personally, her acts of BAD FAITH, have caused me severe harm and mental distress. In 2015, I was diagnosed with a disabling neurological disorder called Idiopathic Hypersomnia by my pulmonologist, a Diplomate, of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (a unique honor which recognizes special competency in sleep medicine and significant contributions to the field). Currently, there is NO cure. By 2018, the disorder progressed and I needed to apply for STD via my insurance carrier The Hartford. A NURSE practitioner at the Hartford reviewed the case and dismissed the medical reports from my pulmonologists and neurologists. My benefits were cut and I had to appeal the decision. Acting as a psychiatrist and sleep specialist, Dr. Mary Beth Valiulis was hired by the Hartford as a "medical consultant" to provide an analysis of their medical information. Dr V is kind, knowledgeable and caring. She has been my doctor for several years. When my husband died, she was thoughtful enough to call me and ask how I was doing. Dr V is non judgmental, supportive and really cares about her patients and their well being. When I go in for med checks she always talks to me about any current problems. She and Leela were very helpful in addressing a time consuming problem regarding my meds a while ago. I would recommend her to anyone.

While it is helpful that you can quickly get in to see her, she charges a lot and doesn't provide the proper paperwork to file claims with your insurance. She can be very egotistical and pushy. She prescribes medication without suggesting therapy as well, unless you are willing to pay an arm and a leg for her to be your therapist.
