Find another but not her
My son was in PICU and his neurological symptoms worsened because of his GI issues. When the hospital tried to contact her, she said it’s not related to GI whereas every doctor in the PICU it was due to his GI issues. She never called back to check him. Without calling me or seeing my kid, she suddenly changed his prescription which landed my kid in PICU in a life threatening condition. Please find someone who really cares about your kids concern and who wouldn’t deny the issue.A big NO for her.

Find another GI
We saw Dr. Shambayati for years at her old office. She moved and left all her patients without care for months after leaving INTEGRIS. (She’s left OU as well) When she moved they said we needed a new referral to see her, and when the pediatrician sent over the referral she denied it. I called her office and said it doesn’t make sense and she said Dr Shambayati and her nurse both personally denied our request. She picks and chooses the patients she wants to see. Left feeling sad for my daughter without a GI, she has left so many patients high and dry. I am not the only with this issue - several therapist have the same concerns with mutual kiddos they have that have also had trouble getting in to get care. If you’re a current patient at any time she might leave and not see you again. Find a more empathetic caring physician.

Recently moved to her own practice, was enthused about getting a quicker appt after waiting 11 months from the original referral, after our first visit- there has been zero communication. Tried to call and get more information and only correct number is on Intergris' webpage. All the other numbers we googled and received including from Surgicare office are incorrect. After we finally reached the office, I was assured by Rachel- it wasn't her fault we hadn't received any communication and the numbers were wrong. Not a great first impression. Do not go to her office if you want to feel like you matter for more than her just trying to get new patients.

Dr. is more concerned about her snotty staff than her patients. A sweet baby needs care and she refused service. What kind of Doctor does that???? Not a professional good dr. That’s for sure!!!!!

If I could give her 10 stars, I would! My son started having issues in 2017, and we have been to six children's hospitals and/or medical clinics all over the US, including the ones that are supposed to be the "best". In two weeks Dr. Shambayati found the underlying issue of the problem. She takes the time to listen, and she has a strong desire to get to the root of the issue, instead of just treating the symptoms. I seriously cannot recommend her enough.

When it comes to being amazing with pediatric patients with complex issues, Dr. Shambayati is the only physician that takes the time to explain the diagnosis to the patient and family with attention to detail in terms that are understandable to everyone. She is incredibly kind and attentive to her patients. Anytime I need a referral for friends in areas that compliment her field, she goes above and beyond to find the answer and help! If you have a kiddo with GI issues, there is no one better in Oklahoma to see than Dr. Shambayati!

It took me almost 2 years to get our ped to write a referral to a specialist. I was so relieved that this doctor and the hospital didn’t waste any time scheduling tests, diagnosing and treating my little boy. He gets very nervous around doctors and is very sensitive. The moment we came into the office, they greeted us and gave my son an activity while we waited. Dr. S sang the Spider-Man song. She spoke to us in a manner that we could understand and we received results within a reasonable time.

Dr. Shambayati takes her time with patients and was great about talking to my teenager about his GI issues. She treated him like an adult and involved him in his care. Her nurse Amber called with results of testing right away and relayed our questions to Dr. Shambayati. The care we have received gives us confidence that are dealing with a doctor that truly cares for her patients.

Let me first say I love Shambayati. She is a wonderful and friendly person and makes you feel very comfortable. We LOVED HER. Here’s the problem. In our area, there is a shortage of pediatric doctors. So when I consult with her and can’t get a follow up appt for 3mo when my kid still doesn’t have a dx and my requests for a return phone call from her get returned by her nurse who isn’t qualified to answer all my questions, we have a prob. Take care of existing patients before accepting more.

I am beyond thankful for Dr. Shambayati. She is the only reason our son is now healthy and back on track. She is very knowledgeable and has a great personality. She genuinely cares for her patients. I cannot give her enough praise. She is by far one of the best doctors I have ever experienced.
