Dr. Mathew Cannava, MD

I had the best experience at Dr. Cannava's office. The entire staff was kind, patient and made me feel incredibly comfortable. His M.A., Trevor, took the time to explain to me every step of the procedure ahead and what to expect. Dr. Cannava was very skilled and gentle, I felt no discomfort during the procedure and at no time did he seem rushed or sidetracked. I felt comfortable and very relaxed despite having to have cancerous tissue removed from my face. I was nervous coming to my appointment and left feeling at ease and confident that I had made the right choice in my healthcare. The office staff was thorough about my bill and what the next steps regarding insurance would be. I was truly thrilled to have such a high level of care and professionalism with the small-town care and attention we all desire.

I saw this doc in August of 2017 for a bad skin breakout that I had been fighting for two months. He said is was acne and treated with an antibiotic. I'm 67 years old so acne, really? I made another appointment because the antibiotic was not working. He said to continue it and would not allow me to make another appointment. On April 11th of 2018 I saw his new doctor Dr. Eastman and she nailed it. She did a biopsy and it turned out to be Lupus. So I've been fighting this for ten months!

Dr. Cannava is great, however dealing with Keri in his billing department is not. I find her to be very condescending, lacks clear communication when it comes to finances and insurance information. Will not go the extra step to insurance better insurance reimbursement for them/you which would be a win win for all parties involved. During our phone conversation (which she did finally call me back 4 days later) she spoke in circles and was caught in a lie.
