Tramatic Dental Surgery
I wish I had known how uncaring and unprofessional Dr. Woodward could be before my in-office surgery. I felt he would not discuss my options or my dental problem with me, and if I asked a question, it seemed to be it a problem for him to answer me. During the surgery, the doctor lost his patience when he had trouble removing the second tooth. He accused me of compromising the sterile field when I raised my hand to stop him because it was so painful for me. He broke/lost control of an instrument when trying to force my infected implant out. At the end of my surgery, I could not immediately close my jaw, and it felt locked open. My face was bruised. He raised his voice to me several times. He showed little to no understanding and compassion for how traumatic the surgery was for me.

Both my pre-op appointment and surgical appointment went very well. After discussion of my general dislike for having procedures done on my teeth/mouth, Dr. Woodward explained everything in easy to understand terms; assuring me along the way that if I had any concerns he would immediately change the plan. I can tell you that my procedure(s) with Dr. Woodward (molar extraction and implant insertion) ended up being the best, and most comfortable) awake oral surgical procedures I have ever had done (and there have been several) in my 53 years. Things went exactly as Dr. Woodward described.

Dr. Matthews has poor interpersonal skills for a medical provider taking care of patients. Hes abrasive, insensitive, lacks empathy, expends his energy trying to "impress" the patient rather than listening to their concerns. He's self absorbed. Dr Woodward coldly ignored my child's fearfulness and made no effort to provide comfort. Just kept lecturing. You can readily find a better provider for yourself or your child.
