Excellent Surgeon
Due to a slip and fall accident that I had in March, I ended up with a fracture of the distal femur. Dr Avery came to see me at the E.R. at Memorial Regional and discussed my condition, options, and prognosis. This was the first time I had ever broken or fractured a bone, and honestly I was scared. Dr Avery put me at ease. The surgery was a success and I began physical therapy within a few days. Several weeks later I went to his office for a follow up appointment. The waiting time was minimal and all the staff were friendly. Dr Avery once again, had an excellent bedside manner. I was not being rushed as I have been with other doctors.I highly rate and recommend Dr Matthew Avery due to his professionalism and caring attitude.

Top Top Orthopedic Doctor
II consulted Dr. Avery for professional advice regarding my ankle fracture, which was initially treated by Dr. Berkowitz. After four months of wearing a cast followed by physical therapy, Dr. Berkowitz informed me that my ankle was not healing and recommended surgery. During a brief 15-minute session, Dr. Avery assessed my case and identified several issues. He explained that a cast should not have been used in the first place and confirmed that my ankle was actually healing well, with no need for surgery. He advised me to gradually resume exercising and playing tennis, assuring me that I wouldn't need to see a doctor for this issue again. Time has proven Dr. Avery's assessment accurate, and I am very grateful for his expertise and advice. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend Dr. Avery for any orthopedic needs.

Best Doctor in the Game!
Dr. Matthew Avery is one of the Best doctors hands down. He treated me back when i broke my tibia in a car accident. He explained everything to me and made it crystal clear about my healing process. With therapy I’m back to walking running and constantly getting better each day. His staff was exceptional, friendly and very helpful. If i can give 6 stars i would.

He is wonderful personable.
I have stress microfractures in my hip and was told to see an orthopedic surgeon. Made the appointment online in MyChart, where they did not ask WHY I was making the appointment. Waited three weeks for it. Showed up today to an empty waiting room and when asked why I was there was told 'they don't treat my injury.' Then they cancelled my appointment, ushered me out. That was the bad part. However, when I got home I left a message about my disappointment, and got a return call from his APRN, who apologized about my experience. When I explained that all I needed was an Orthopedic doctor to read the MRI and see if I needed any additional treatment, she had Dr. Avery do that and scheduled my appointment for the next day. Now, the funny thing is while the rest of the office staff is wonderful, that check-in Nurse was still asking, 'Why are you here today?' Ah Ha! I wasn't going to be ushered out a second time so I said, 'Dr. Avery knows why I am here.'

I arrived to Dr. Avery and his team by way of an ankle fracture. From my initial visit with Dr. Avery for assessment at his office, during prep on surgery day, and finally during my follow up with him, the level of communication was over and and beyond what I had expected. During my final follow up visit, he answered my questions without hesitation and offered some great insight into what I should expect during my continued recovery. In short, nothing but top marks for Dr. Avery and his team!

I had an emergency foot amputation as a result of an accident. Dr Avery was on-call and over the next week performed multiple revision surgeries to complete the amputation. 6months later and I’m back walking and at work. I got lucky he was on-call, but I would recommend him every time. Thank you, Dr Avery.

I had the great pleasure of being seen by Dr. Avery after a fall from a ladder a few days earlier at which time I went to an Urgent care clinic and was told that I had fractured my wrist and was going to have to be in cast for about 6 weeks or longer. Dr. Avery took some x-rays of my wrist and put my mind at ease when he advised me that it was a very small fracture and would not be needed a cast or anything else since I was already healing and was able to move my wrist without any pain or discomfort. Dr. Avery is very polite, friendly and knowledgeable and I give him and his staff 5 big stars!

I am writing to express my disappointment with the way my appointment has been handled. I’ve made this appointment at least two weeks ago only to be told the day before that I was scheduled for the wrong doctor! Then the only appointment near me is over a month away. I hope this message gets to someone who cares enough to manage the office in a way that does not unfairly inconvenience the patient.

I first met Dr. Avery as an emergency trauma patient.. after a very bad fall I was first taken to the emergency room at the Cleveland clinic in Weston where I was told the damages to my leg and knee were too extensive for their orthopedic department and that I needed to be transferred..They transferred me to Dr Avery at Memorial hospital..I am very grateful for not only the results from Dr Avery but also the caution and communication Dr Avery has taken with me..He explained that the fracture blisters covering my leg prevented him from performing surgery right away and that we needed to wait until they subsided and then explained the procedure he would use to repair my leg including exactly where the incisions would be.. right away I went from being very scared to relaxed and comfortable knowing I was in great hands because of his communication and knowledge of exactly what was necessary for the repairs of my leg. I will always be very grateful for Dr Avery.

Dr.Avery is the best orthopedic surgeon hands down. I came in with multiple injuries, and the moment I met him he explained everything that needed to be done and what was to come. After multiple surgeries I am up and walking without a limp, and have full use of my hands, all thanks to Dr.Avery. I’m a 19 year old student with my life ahead of me and after a lot of crying, surgeries, and therapy, I am where I want to be today thanks to Dr.Avery. If you ever need a orthopedic surgeon go to Dr.Avery. You won’t leave disappointed. He answers all questions, he takes his time with his patients, and he doesn’t sugar code anything. As long as you work with him he will work with you.

Right around Christmas I slipped and fell at home on some wet tile. I was recommended to Dr. Avery from the Memorial Health Hospital. Throughout the pain and the shock of what was happened I had a lot of anxiety, until I met Dr. Avery. As soon as he entered the room I felt at ease with his warm personality. He explained to me my injury in a way that I was able to understand, and walked me through the day of surgery process, and the steps I would have to take in the weeks following for the quickest recovery. My surgery went well, my recovery was great and I couldn't be more appreciative for Dr. Avery. I hope I never need to use an orthopedic surgeon again, but if I ever do I would 100% go back to Dr. Avery.

Dr. Avery is Superb surgeon/doctor. I went to see Dr. Avery for an ankle fracture, he did not hesitate and took me in immediately with a surgery for the very next day! His staff is the absolute greatest!! he spent 20+ minutes with me reviewing my X-ray’s and explaining thoroughly the fracture & surgery. My rehab was quicker than I could have imagined and I was back to semi- normal after only 4 weeks. Dr. Avery is brilliant, compassionate & the most talented surgeons I’ve ever met.
