Horrible
The doctor might have been in the room for 5 minutes. He asked me one question and when I started to tell him the problem and what happened he told me to get up on the table and took my leg and pulled it forward and backward, then side to side. He then looked at the 2 x-rays I brought with me and started to leave the room. I asked him what he thought and what I should do and he said it doesn't look like a fracture and ' I think it is mainly in your head.' I was in pain and had obvious swelling and the fall I took was severe. He did not care and apparently he thought I could not tell actual pain from things being in my head. Total waste of my time. He showed no semblance of respect for my pain and injury.

My surgery experience
He did a full shoulder replacement. I continued to have serious pain after surgery. Went back several times. Just took x-rays and said everything looked good. After the third time of reporting the pain, he said go to another doctor. I did! The first doctor i saw said it was not in the right position, second one sent me to get an Ultrasound. Came back and they said they saw a tear. This doctor referred me to another doctor who eventually did my Reverse should surgery. After the surgery I asked the doctor how the 'torn tendon' look like. He said, it looked like it was never attached. I did not have any fall or injury that could have caused a tear. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Absolutely Do Not Use this doctor! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx No empathy and narcissistic from my point of view.

Worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Dr. Melander brimming with confidence prior to your surgery - he knows exactly what he'll do to fix you, communicates it like it's a piece of cake. After you wake up, everything changes. I received mixed messaging from the first conversation after surgery. First it was a successful surgery with debridement because the MRI was wrong about there being a labral tear. Then suddenly 2 months post surgery he talked about the "large tear" he remembers fixing. Now I have to find out from the office manager that the tear was inoperable. Dr. Melander won't give you the time of day. He walked out of my appointment mid-sentence for no apparent reason and with no explanation. Please reconsider using him and go to a doctor who cares.

Did not check my knee and ankle that I injured. Rather dismissive and said to take IBUPROFEN for two weeks. Right after leaving the Doctor's office, I scheduled another appointment with a doctor from the same group who has taken great care of me in the past.

I am very thankful I made an appointment with Dr. Melander. I had been suffering with compartment syndrome in my left lower leg for 7 years. It had gone undiagnosed for all that time. I was having a hard time with walking. Dr. Melander diagnosed me and performed surgery all within the same month. His team is amazing. Everyone is professional and very dedicated. I had surgery 2 weeks ago and my walking has greatly improved. I am very excited and thankful for my experience. :)

Rude and pretentious. Spent only five minutes in the room. Rushed through the exam. I am neat and clean with good hygiene. I take care to dress appropriately and am polite and patient with people. I have very good insurance and there will be no problem with him getting paid. He did not seem to care nor did he act like he wanted to answer the few questions I tried to ask him. When I raised my concerns he talked over me (at a volume sure to drowned out anything further I might have said) and avoided answering my questions about my broken bone. The rest of the staff were very helpful, kind and compassionate. Maybe Dr. Melander was having a bad day, but if that was the case it does not excuse his unprofessional behavior. I have a follow-up appointment in a couple of weeks. I will keep the appointment as I am interested to see if this is how he always behaves.

Dr Melander did a fantastic job on my knee. I tore the medial and lateral meniscus and many times such an injury ends tennis careers. His excellent surgery as well as diligent coaching on rehabilitation has enabled me to play tennis at a very competitive level at 48. We trust our entire family to him and appreciate his skill and expertise.

I started seeing Dr Melander after back surgery for serious central canal stenosis. While the surgery was a success, the treating doc could not help me recover from VERY TROUBLING residual musculoskeletal issues. Referred to Dr. Melander by my PCP, he has treateded my problems with GREAT SUCCESS! With Dr. Melander’s reassurance, and medical treatments, I worked through my difficulties and now my “active” life is restored to me. YAY! Doc is thorough, concerned, and kind. Important qualities!

Dr. Melander did my husbands surgery. Steel plate and 6 screws to put a collar bone back together. He did a great job and got my husband back and moving in time to compete in his Ironman 5 months after his surgery. Highly recommend!
