Interventional Cardiology at Scripps Anderson Pav
Dr Price did my angio with stent insertion 2 years ago and now my cardiac cath to assess patency after an abnormal finding on stress echo. He has a very friendly and direct demeanor with patients and I can tell his Fellows enjoy their clinical experience with him. The staff is very well trained and competent which reflects well of his management skills. The procedures I have received here have all been done with a high degree pf professionalism. I highly recommend this Scripps provider and the Interventional team in general.

Matthew Price is a genius.
My daughter, 18, was struggling with a PFO and right to left shunt. It was hard to locate and hard to diagnose. The symptoms were lack of oxygen in her blood, which cause all kinds of additional symptoms. Matthew Price knew what to do and how to locate it. I can never thank him enough. If you are having a hard time with a PFO or shunt, and require a doctor with that specialty; this is your man!

The doctor should spent more time with his patient
Doctors should spend more time with his patients instead of letting fellows and juniors to handle almost everything. The whole experience at La Jolla felt unprofessional.

Angiogram Experience
On March 28, 2022 I had an appointment with Doctor Matthew Price for Angiogram procedure. Prior to procedure, he and his assistant came and talked to me about placing two stents as my cardiologist recommended based on his observation. During operation, my view was blocked. I did not see doctor Price inside the room. They injected me with the drug. When I open my eyes, I tried to communicate, but no one was around. They did not communicate with me during or after the procedure to tell me what was going on. I don't know who performed the procedure and why they did not want to talk to me. In recovery room a nurse gave me a card for a heart surgeon. I was very shock to know that I went for putting stents instead I was candidate for open heart surgery. Usually for the same procedure other doctors communicate with the patient. I wish they would have told me and showed me the video so I can make a better decision. Now my Cardiologist has to explain the video. No good experience.
