I went into the emergency department at Mayo due to extreme lower right abdominal pain. Dr Robertson ended up being my surgeon. He was upfront and straightforward. He gave me options, explained all ramifications, and listened to my needs. He was extremely personable and kind. He texted my daughters with updates and gave them his cell phone for concerns. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the way he treated myself and my family.

Dr. Roberson saved my life. He is the most caring, open-minded doctor I have ever met. He has the most knowledge and expertise and the smallest ego. I highly recommend him. He puts his patients first. Love, love, love him!

I owe him my life when everyone else gave up.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 02 when I was only 20 years old. Dr. Robertson not only saved my life, but because of his efforts I was able to conceive my daughter before it came back. He stood up for me with the hospital staff and everyone and exhausted all efforts. I owe him my life. He was the most thoughtful and amazing doctor I have had to date. He went out of his way and thought way outside the box to give me the life I wanted as best as he could. He continuously made certain I had everything and took the best care of me. Treated me like his daughter.

Absolutely, The Best
An ovarian cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. As soon as I was referred to him, he called me and double booked so that I could see him in person 5 days later. He has taken care of me every step of the way. He communicates with my doctors in Georgia. He has called me and messaged me when there was a concern, and he has celebrated small and large victories with me. I am thankful that this gifted surgeon is part of my medical team.

Dr. Robertson and his staff are wonderful. I was comfortable and was given the upmost care. He was very thorough and I traveled from NC to the Mayo Clinic and wish he was my main provider. I couldn't be more pleased to be under his care.

DO NOT see Dr Robertson
I had a robotic hysterectomy, during surgery, the 'robot' sliced my ovary, fallopian tube & sigmoid colon. Dr Robertson blamed the robot 3 months after hysto pre-cancer cells returned, Dr Robertson didnt offer any suggestions or treatment, he just told me I had 7-10 yrs to live and walked out of the room. I changed doctors, I'm alive today because I left his practice.

Dr Robertson is the best hands down ! He took the time with me and listened to my concerns and answered all my questions . He is very professional and knowledgeable . I was nervous as it was my first time having surgery , he used the da Vinci surgical robotic system and it went fine and recovery was smooth sailing ! I was also impressed with his office staff, kind and courteous . My appointments were always on time and within minutes of being taken into an exam room , he was there . I can’t say enough about Dr. Robertson and Mayo Clinic . I would recommend him to anyone, and I have !

This doctor is the rudest doctor that I have encountered. At the time I had cancer he did the surgery and when I came to him for my results he was harsh. I couldn’t Comprehend what he was telling me so I asked for him to explain it again to me I thought he had blown a fuse. I can’t understand why Mayo would have him on staff. I am currently a patient there and this really concerns me about their hiring someone like this doctor.

Ladies find a new doctor!!!
Very arrogant, condescending, and rude. He's more worried about impressing his nurses then listening to his patients. This male doctor shouldn't be working in the female medical field.

Dr. Matthew Robertson is an absolute rock star, doing God's work in Jacksonville, Florida every day. A cancer diagnosis can be quite terrifying, but his confidence was contagious, and I felt all the fear and anxiety disappear the moment that I met him. He fit me in to his surgical schedule on a day that he was not even scheduled to be operating. I am so grateful to him for removing that Stage 1a from my body without delay, without drama, without question. A few hours later, I was (almost) better than ever! Dr. Robertson is a compassionate, precise and super-talented man, who still manages to share a deep smile, a hearty laugh and a twinkle in his eye when he stops by the check post-op. "There's nothing but good news - everything went great!" Woooo - hoooo! Clearly, he loves his work, and we patients love Dr. Robertson! I hope that he makes it to Burning Man .... a bucket list item that I think he'll really enjoy! ~ Lori Robins (4 weeks post op and feeling fantastic!
