Weak Link at Cleveland Clinic
Matt Siuba got assigned to our son while he was in Intensive Care; he was the second doctor and the contrast with the first one was remarkable, and not in a good way. Siuba was uncaring, unavailable, unprofessional, unresponsive. Dr. Matt Siuba is a black mark on the Cleveland Clinic.

Limited and Arrogant
Run as fast as you can. We experienced ethical issues and willfully negligent conduct; we had to get Cleveland Clinic's Bioethics Director to intervene. Within 10 minutes of meeting our family member, Siuba determined that any medical intervention would be futile. He unilaterally decided this without consulting family or other doctors. He canceled all therapies that were in place (physical, respiratory, occupational) and administered high doses of fentanyl, contrary to expresed family directives, rendering him comatose. Someone stayed bedside with our family member nearly round the clock as we thought Siuba would further sabotage his care. The family started referring to Siuba as Dr. Death. Siuba's behavior was escalated and the Clinic reversed his course. One day after stopping fentanyl and reinstating therapies, our loved one made it out of ICU, and he had the presence of mind to say he was surprised he made it out alive. Dr. Siuba's poor medical care had devastating consequences.

Siuba plays God
Siuba withheld critical care determining it wasn't worth it. He ignored family wishes. Thought he knew better and his denial of medical care had devastating effects. If you ever have the misfortune of getting Siuba assigned to you or loved one, run. He is a DO, not MD.
