Arrogant
I was diagnosed in the hospital with multiple sclerosis. It did not show on my spine but I had brain lesions, etc…. Went to see Dr. Tremblay and because it wasn’t such a cut and dry form of multiple sclerosis he really could care less about it. Did not answer questions, did not want to hear what I had to say, and didn’t seem all that interested in doing the work to see what was going on. I imagine if you have all the obvious signs he might be your Dr but if yours is a more difficult case… he is less than interested

Arrogant, rude, like a robot!
Awful! All Dr. T cares about is pushing his agenda, medicine! He ask the same questions at every visit. Never listens to or take serious your complaints/symptoms, I told him I had frequent falls and balance issues. He took my cane and I fell during the exam. Stay away! I had other horrible experiences with him prior, but this was it for me. I tried to see another MS physician new to the office, I soon realized they have a similar agenda. Medication, not controlling or helping or caring about your symptoms.

One of the best
In my 25 years of coping with MS, I have seen many doctors. Dr. Tremblay is one of the best neurologists I’ve ever seen. His exams are thorough, he is very informative, he encourages and answers all questions, and he does it all with great compassion. The office that he’s located in, the Cooperman St Barnabas outpatient center, has been nothing but helpful. My appointments are treated timely, with the longest I’ve ever had to wait 10 minutes. And the office staff is always very able to answer any questions or concerns I might have.

Dr. Tremblay has been knowledgeable, compassionate and easy to talk to. He has a great combination of humility, humor and kindness which is something you do not normally see in a doctor of his ability and stature. He answers questions honestly, has never made me feel foolish for my anxiety, and has never downplayed my symptoms. I hope to continue my medical relationship with him and the staff at the MS center. The nurses, social worker, and office staff have also been very easy to work with. They took care of my FMLA paperwork, handicapped badge application and forwarding my medical information to any other doctor who needed it. I'm very happy to trust Dr. Tremblay and the MS center in Livingston with my medical care.

I had great experiences with Dr T. I found him to listen to all my concerns and felt comfortable that he was a great dr who fit my needs. However, I found that over time, it become increasingly difficult to get in touch with him, get answers to my questions, and even get a phone call back. He constantly pushed his "agenda," including more appointments in a given year than any neuro I had ever seen. He dismissed my concerns and personal choices (for example, what meds I was comfortable taking). It seemed that everything I appreciated about him was the complete opposite. I was stunned that a specialized neurologist would offer this level of care. Also, some of the nurses tend to be snippy on the phone. Please choose someone who is more concerned with patient care than billable hours.

Dr. Tremblay is a capable and respectful physician. He has very big shoes to fill at the MS Center and he does so admirably. He takes his time and is quite thoughtful. I like that he is both MD & Ph.D.

Dr. Tremblay is one of the the most knowledgeable and compassionate doctors I have ever met. He took the time to review my history prior to my first visit. He was incredibly attentive to every detail when discussing my records and answered every question. Aside from being very knowledgeable, he was very compassionate, understanding, and positive. I highly recommend him!

It is a pleasure for me to commend Dr. Tremblay: what a nice, humble, and down to earth person-let alone Dr., to be treated by. He not only took his time in listening to my concerns, but, addressed each one of them thoroughly. I felt at ease with his compassion and knowledge when it came to learning more on a life long illness, which was unknown to me-like ms. He is truly a man that loves his career, and cares for his patients.. no words to describe him! Highly recommend Dr. Mathew Tremblay!

Very condescending, rude, poor bedside manner. Does not listen to patients questions or concerns. To arrogant to recommend another doctor, thinks it's easier to say it's all in your head then to actually find the cause of the symptoms. Does not actually seem to physically examine patients. I would not recommend to people who are looking for actual answers or care. If you have ms or are having symptoms I would go elsewhere if at all possible. Good luck

I had my first appointment with Dr. Tremblay yesterday. I was very impressed by the amount of time he spent with me. He listened to what I had to say. He answered mine and my husband's questions completely in language that was easy to understand. He had reviewed my previous MRIs the night before and knew of my previous history. He appeared to be very caring. This morning, using the patient portal, I emailed him a question and had an answer in less than 1 hour. Outstanding!
