Doesn’t care about you his PA is awesome
This is a pain doctor who doesn’t believe that you are in pain. He doesn’t listen to you or care about you. I told him that I didn’t want any injections or surgery and that’s all he pushed. I told him I was allergic to Norco and he still prescribed it, shows how much he listens. Avoid this guy at all costs.. he’s not worth the headache!

Mean Spirited and Non-Professional
I attempted to work with Dr. Vasko for nearly two years and made no progress. From the moment I walked to the the time I ended our relationship I was treated like an addict. I have had numerous back surgeries, all of which I am told have failed due to age, I am over 70 years old and have treated for this issue since I was a teenager, after my first surgery. I have a PhD in psychology with a specialty in addiction studies. I have worked my entire life, never on disability, taken long sick leaves, or been out of work despite the pain. Dr. Vasko accused me of drinking and using illicit drugs (I do use neither). He immediately cut my dosage of medication in half and explained that he would be discontinuing my medication. He stated that he could not help me and I would have to live with the pain. He did inject for my sciatica and it helped for a while. He was mean spirited, rude, and accusatory. I have never been treated by any medical professional like this. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Very Condescinding
I found Dr. Vasko very arrogant. He does not listen well. I had moved back to my home state of Michigan in August 2023. My primary care wanted me to see a pain specialist about my pain meds. I had been taking a pain for 6 years that Dr Vasko objected to. Dr. Vasko did not think I should take it because of another prescription I used. He said the prescriptions could interact badly. I told him I had been taking both for over 6 years with no bad results. He still wanted to prescribe Oxycodone. I tried it and kept telling Dr. Vasko I did not like it because I woke up having my skin crawl and very anxious... could not sleep. He kept insisting I take the Oxy. I do not believe in 'shopping' doctors, but in this case, I got a referral for another pain doctor. I would NEVER go back to Vasko. Please note: I had written out a response he had to me and I was not allowed to post it because 'it contained profanity or unacceptable language. I was only copying what he said to me.

Finally some help!
The first visit was us getting to know each other. And got better from there. I was surprised to hear that I had to go to the hospital to get my multilevel epidural and I did wait quite a while for it. But it was a relief. The second one was done in his office and that was much quicker. The next thing is the radio frequency aballation which is done in the hospital again but I expect all to go well everyone is very friendly once you get to know them and they get to know you. It's always that way with a new doctor to kind of circle each other get a feel for each other. And he was very good at explaining procedures to me.

My wife was a patient and the only thing he does is ablation procedures, nothing more. He has never sat down and talked with my wife about how she is hurting, so doctor /patient interaction is non existent with this guy. And if his procedures don't work the staff there look at you like your crazy. Look elsewhere, this so called doctor and staff are only in it for the big money these "ablation procedures" make them...

Condescending & did not care about my issue!
I’ve been dealing with foot pain for over six years on the right, and possibly a year on the left. My foot doctor has tried different kinds of modalities decided to refer me out to the doctor. He originally referred him to a doctor that is no longer going to be part of the practice. So that was fine. I trust of the practice. It took almost 2 weeks for my doctor to get the referral because they will not see you unless you are referred and I’m not talking about insurance I’m talking about a diagnosis So so he got the referral and I made the appointment and I got in asap. They took a week to get my papers to me and I filled it out and there was approximately 20 pages. (Lots of time). When I finally arrived at the appointment, he told me he couldn’t do anything with my foot basically dismissed me. No care or regard for my pain. I sat in the parking lot, cried knowing that my doctor sent this referral regarding my foot and he knew he couldn’t help. Why didn’t he know this before I went?

Non attentive and condescending.
Vasko was not interested in my history of surgeries, nor did he seem to care about my chronic pain! His glib, ambivalent, cavalier attitude did not sit well with me at all! I would not choose him if you are suffering. He pushes expensive procedures! He does nothing to help your current issues!

Dr. Vasco is a kind, caring, compassionate doctor. He is also very professional. At age 74, I have many pain issues. Yesterday he gave me trigger point injections which greatly decreased my back pain. He always asks if I have any questions and spends time to address any concerns I have.

dr matthew vasko is a callous, mean spirited man. because i couldn't set up a video conference with him, given my life line cell phone (Obama phone) and malware that i picked up, he said i would have to come to his office on 5/22/2020, despite his knowing i would have to take public transportation to get there. i had left numerous messages at his office that week pleading to accomplish the conference with just the phone call as his office had the month prior. finally on 5/21/2020 i left a message stating i did not want to come to the office as i was in a high risk category (68 yrs old with immune system issues). i heard not a word back and was out of meds since mid march. instead i received a letter from vasko stating i was terminated. he gave me no referral, no 30 day warning and no chance to talk with any provider. i made the mistake in complaining during a pandemic.

Had a great experience. I've had multiple spine surgeries and have been disabled with back and leg pain, after consultation with Dr. Vasko, where he was pleasant, compassionate, and caring he recommended spinal stimulator device, during the trial I got 80% relief of my pain, I had the permanent device implanted ASAP, and am doing much better today. Highly recommend Dr. Vasko!
