Well it's been just shy if 3 weeks, where I had surgery for two hernias he repaired. Final results are not in, but He was very straight forward, answered my questions, and he and his staff when engaged in conversation we're pleasant. Day of surgery @ Hi Desert Medical he was all business and straight to the point explained exactly what he was going to be doing . And I didn't expect anything more. These surgeons are quite busy, I was the 1st surgical patient @ 7:00 a.m. , but I'm under the impression there were 3-5 patients after me.! That's a busy man! I've plenty of experience with many surgeons as my late wife had cancer, Some better than others a few had awful bedside empathy or conduct. Dr. Spektor definitely Not one of those. I was treated kindly, professionally and along with the hospital staff overall they were great! They provided all my expectations. I don't expect red carpets, just be professional and straightforward, Which they 100% were. I'd recommend them.

After much thought I decided to leave a review. I worked in and around the medical field for 30 years. I was referred over to Dr. Maxim Spektor by my dermatologist. I have no idea what his surgical skills are because I have decided against having him perform surgery on me. I understand people being straight forward when speaking (that is, my preferred form of speaking). However, there is a difference between being straight forward and belittling/condescending, arrogance. In my world I have no tolerance for such disrespect. My health history should not determine my ability to comprehend in office visits. Surgical skills and bedside-manner make a surgeon complete. One without the other does not make a good physician/surgeon. As far as his nurse, I would not trust her as far as I could throw her. In short, what she told myself and my daughter over the phone was not what transpired in the office. Nor during the visit did she step forward and acknowledge her error. Food for thought...

I was brought into the hospital for an emergency appendectomy and he had to gull and audacity to be cruel, unprofessional, deplorable and extremely condescending as I was laying there unable to protect or defend myself as I was there requiring surgery. If I could give negative stars that wouldn’t even do this situation justice! Would not recommend him at all! I have 17 years of working in the medical field, and this is not how you treat anyone, the phrase do no harm, does not mean anything to him! He thinks he can talk to his patients with such disrespect and get away with it! And all because he is the only general surgeon for that hospital! SHAME ON YOU DR SPEKTOR! You apparently skipped the courses in medical school on bedside manner!

My daughter was seen by the Dr prepped for surgery. But he came in very hostile. When my daughter is 3 types of Native American. CHOCTAW, APACHE and CHEROKEE.. Then he said let's have a look at your tummy. My daughter is on Ajovy for migraines from her neurologist and it causes the injection site to get big like a mosquito bite she scratches the area. He looked at it and whispered OMG. She ended up not having the surgery because she did not feel safe . He even asked if she could walk. I would like to give him a minus 10. Terrible no bedside manners .

Dr. Spector was very professional. He answered all of my questions in a direct understandable manner. His calm and friendly demeanor was comforting for me and my wife at a time when we had understandable anxiety. I highly recommend him.

I have had a EXCELLENT experience with Dr. Maxim Spektor and his staff, and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing surgery. With all my interactions with Dr Spektor I found him to be a great listener, a great communicator, and most importantly a absolutely great Surgeon. Prior to surgery, I had heard/read nightmare stories on this particular surgery, which very much un-nerved me. However, my surgery experience with Dr. Spektor went seamlessly good! I was not in any significant pain nor did I have bad side effects after surgery at all. I honestly credit my surgeries success to the skill set of Dr. Spektor! I did my follow up two weeks after surgery, and all is fantastic. Again, I would highly recommend Dr Spektor for gallbladder surgery or for any surgery from neck to groin. Thank You Dr Spektor for all you did for me!

I had a herniated abdomen from a previous surgery done about 5 years ago. I tried one repair and had a laparoscopic mesh placed but the hernia was too large to correct by this method. Dr. Spektor explained why this was the wrong repair and that I needed open surgery to fix my belly. He answered my questions and made me feel that I was in good hands and was likely to have a good out come. He did the procedure and I immediately felt the difference. My "two halves" had been rejoined. The recovery was made as easy as possible by his attention to my concerns and the care of the nursing staff at Hi Desert Medical Center. After a month I feel and look so much better. Dr. Spektor is a very skilled and caring doctor. Good to know him.
