Dr Richie-Gillespie was an answer to prayers. She is extremely knowledgeable and doesn't waste time taking action to help her patients find healing. I had benign nerve tumor that had me in constant pain for years. I was referred to Dr. Richie-Gillespie and was quickly scheduled for a consult and within a couple of weeks was scheduled for surgery to remove it. Her nurse Carolyn was an absolute joy to communicate with throughout this process-she promptly returned messages and was kind in assisting with scheduling etc. I HIGHLY recommend this physician.

Dr Richie-Gillespie saved my life. January 2023 she removed 5 lb tumor from my chest. It hasn’t come back. My life has changed for the better thanks to her. Follow ups have been easy. Always a joy to see the doctor and nurse Carolyn.

She always listens and is extremely knowledgeable. She performed cancer surgery on my elbow in 2002 and there was no recurrence. A problem developed 22 years later from radiation and she is still on top of her game. The best!

Dr. Richie-Gillespie is consistently professional while being compassionate and attentive. Her surgical abilities have profoundly improved my quality of life over the alternative a lesser surgeon would have managed. I always leave her office feeling seen and heard.

I DO NOT recommend this doctor’s office at all. It was a horrible experience, from scheduling, to the nurse, and the doctor. Dr. Richie’s office had initially stated that they had not received the referral from the orthopedic doctor, then the address was incorrect on the referral. Dr. Richie’s office went from telling me that the address was incorrect on the orthopedics referral then incorrect on the insurance. Per Stephanie, she couldn’t assist me until the address was corrected. I personally took a hard copy letter from the orthopedic and the insurance stating that they did not need a specific address. After Dr. Richie’s office received that document, my mom was finally scheduled. The day of the appointment, nurse Carolyn was rude and requested the disc that had the images of the MRI. I informed Carolyn that the orthopedic specialist had informed me that they would send the images and notes to Dr. Richie. Carolyn then left the room stating she would see if Dr. Richie would even consult my mother. Carolyn then came back and informed me that if the images were done at Envision imaging that Dr. Richie’s office could access the results. Once Dr. Richie was in the room; she did not allow me to translate for my mother and used a third-party translator. I understand that this can be for liability purposes, but the translator was giving incorrect information and I still had to explain things to my mother. Dr. Richie did not give us answers for the issue that the orthopedic specialist referred us for, and Dr. Richie stated that my mother needed further imaging and to return to the orthopedic doctor. Dr. Richie sarcastically said, “She needs to stop working, that should help.” When I began asking questions, Dr. Richie stood up, opened the door, and stated that she had other patients to see. The visit with Dr. Richie was a waste of time. Her tone and bedside manner were unprofessional.

Dr. Gillespie is a fabulous Surgeon and Physician! Her compassion and empathy for others is exceptional, as well! An amazing person, too. Her unique care and consideration for all of her patients are not the norm in the World we live in today! I would highly recommend her services as an Orthopedic Oncologist! Sincerely, Mark S. Dale

She explains diagnosis and treatment options in very clear, concise language, and is open to the patient asking questions. I have multiple myeloma and broke my humerus bone. Two orthopedic physicians HIGHLY recommended a reverse shoulder replacement as my only hope. My oncologist recommended Dr. Richie-Gillespie, who explained to me that it was highly likely that a reverse shoulder replacement would not be successful for me with the myeloma. We patiently waited it out, my arm has healed over time WITHOUT surgery! She treats the patient holistically. We need more physicians like her!
