Implicitly Biased Doctor
Today I was excited to meet this new doctor at my clinic and that was Dr. Schwartz. I have been a life long patient of The Olympus Clinic and my physician was out of town. From the moment I met Dr. Schwartz her energy and overall demeanor was confrontational and judgemental. Never have I ever been treated so poorly by a physician. She treated me as if I was a drug seeking addict. I have sporadic anxiety like anyone else. And things have been more stressful lately. She attempted to prescribe be dangerous psychotic drugs and antihistamines instead of the medicine I was asking for. And she drug tested me like I was common trash. If you are a glutton for embarrassment than this is the doctor for you. I am so disappointed because I was excited to meet her. She has a kind and welcoming countenance in photos but pictures can be deceiving.

Saved my life
I’ve struggled with addiction my entire life. It’s difficult for me to talk to doctors about it so I shy away from it because it’s embarrassing. At 59, I was at a point in life where I was so sick from drinking to help my pain that I wouldn’t have given myself another year to live. The effects of neuropathy and chronic pain, due to a catastrophic illness that almost took my life over 10 years ago, have done nothing but gotten worse, even after half dozen surgeries and easily twice that many doctors, in an effort to find any type of relief. Not only did Megan make me feel comfortable, she helped me trust her, which has been difficult for me since my mismanaged bout with sepsis. She made me feel safe in the knowledge that she was going to work with me until we figured things out. She sent me to U of U Hospital for detox (amazing program btw) and has overseen my care with at least three or four doctors since. I love talking to her monthly. She’s a fabulous doctor and I’m glad I found her!
