Definitely the Best
Dr Wood is definitely the best surgeon for hand, wrist and elbow. She has performed surgery on my left wrist and on my right arm. She has also performed surgery on my husband's elbow. She is very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. We never felt like she was rushing us thru. Dr Wood took time to explain what and why she was doing each thing and answered all our questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone, without hesitation!

Mallet Finger/Baseball Finger Injury and Follow Up
I find Dr. Wood's personality and staff quite delightful. However, I was disappointed that when I called a week before my 8-week follow up telling them my finger was not healing properly and felt it was infected because it was very itchy and swollen the girl said, "You have Mallet Finger - how did that get infected?!?" I said "I dunno, that's why I'm calling you to get in sooner if possible." They disregarded my request and I didn't hear anything from them until I went in for my scheduled appointment. Dr. Wood spent about 3 minutes with me after a 30 minute wait and said I was healed. 3 weeks later I sit here typing this with a swollen finger that continues to itch. They do a TON of business at that place! People in and out left and right but very little details given during the actual appointments. After insurance I owe them $160 just for the 8-week follow up 3-minute visit, but that's between me and my insurance company. I'll visit a different provider if I need more care.

I've seen her for two different issues on different hands. She gets the diagnosis correct and clearly explains the course of treatment. Surgery on one hand. Cortisone and a brace on the other, but no surgery. In both instances, my recovery was complete. I would highly recommend Dr Wood.

I had been seeing another ortho for > 1 year with no resolution or change in approach to my care. I therefore decided to see another surgeon, and chose Dr. Wood. She quickly identified my issues, had some images done to confirm her initial diagnosis and had me on the operating table in less than two weeks. Less than two weeks post-op I already feel much better. She is an excellent surgeon, her office staff is friendly and helpful, and she got me results! I would definitely recommend her!

Dr. Wood performed out-patient surgery to relieve the Dupuytrens Contraction in my right hand. My experience with Dr. Wood and her staff was outstanding. I was treated with courtesy, respect, and understanding from the moment I first entered the office for consultation until successful completion of the procedure several weeks later. I highly recommend Dr. Woods. The pleasant and caring spirit among all the staff speaks to Dr. Woods' outstanding leadership and professionalism.

Don't even bother with this doctor if you are trying to get a second opinion. . They'll tell you they are "too busy" to see you. Arrogant attitude, after demanding all sorts of medical records from you.

My carpal tunnel (no scar visible!) and Osteo Arthritic wrist reconstruction (tiny/discrete scar) surgery, two years ago this Sept. 30th, has resulted in my return to excellent hand activities for me, a VERY ACTIVE 78yo g-grandmother! I sing Dr. Wood's praises to EVERYONE with whom I come in contact, telling them where to find her office and where she performs her surgeries. I think her techniques are state of the art (from anesthetic methods to post-op care). I am forever grateful to her.

I was given diagnosis of sever ulnar nerve damage (funny bone nerve) and was referred to Dr. Wood on a Friday; the first available appointment was early the next week due the severity ... Had a 20 minute consultation after great intro/history meeting with her team ... she went out of her way to schedule me for surgery that same Friday. I can say enough about the whole team there. My surgery went fine and in a very reassuring environment at the surgery center at Medical City.

Dr. Wood approaches perfection in practice that focuses on/and arm issues. Staff is courteous/friendly, a difficult achievement in today's medical parameters of moving patients quickly through the process. Dr. Wood immediately gained my confidence; her expertise is obvious, and she explains in informative ways that aren't condescending. Due to some complications occurring before 1st visit, treatment was delayed; once prognosis made, surgery scheduled next day. Special kudos to therapist Nicole.

I consulted Dr. Wood about two separate problems, one on each hand. She thoroughly examined each hand, recommended an Xray, and discussed multiple treatment options. She certainly did not pressure me into surgery, but said it was an option because of the severity of the problem. I thought her explanations were good, and she gave me an instruction sheet which illustrated my problem. I also thought her staff was very professional. I would certainly recommend her to others.
