Dr. Melanie Ochalski, MD

My husband and I are so grateful to Dr. O for the excellent care she provided throughout our IVF journey. She did not give up on us when certain protocols did not work and went the extra mile to insure that she tried all avenues. We are currently at week 20 in our pregnancy and baby is thriving. We credit her for making it this far in our years-long journey. We may have graduated from Dr. O and Shady Grove but she will be one we think of and thank when we finally meet our bundle of joy.

My husband and I will never be able to express our gratitude for the compassionate care that we received while under Dr.Ochalski’s care. We have since brought our little bundle of joy into this world. Highly recommend if you have any concerns or doubts to go and see Melanie. She and the entire team is there with you step by step and provides support in times needed the most. They truly all emanate the joy for their jobs and it shows when taking care of their patients. Thank you again, we will never be able to say it enough.

If you are with Dr. Ochalski and the Lancaster Shady Grove group, then know you are in GREAT hands. I can't express how thankful we were to have our care with them. Dr. Ochalski worked with us for years and never gave up hope for us. Between her and Elyse (NP), i knew that we were well taken care of. Both always took time to explain things to my husband and I and answered any questions that we had. 5 years into our journey we are finally pregnant for the first time, thanks to the amazing team at Shady Grove!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience at Shady Grove and with Dr. O! We struggled for a while trying to conceive and Dr. O assisted and took the best care of us throughout the defeating process of infertility. Dr. Ochalski and her staff at SGF-York were absolutely amazing. She is extremely knowledgable, has wonderful bedside manner, and wants the best for her patients. She conducted many of our ultrasounds early on, and was the one to tell us that we were pregnant! We saw Dr. Ochalski for all the follow up ultrasounds and she answered all of our questions and made us feel prepared and safe as we transitioned to OBGYN! The staff at Shady Grove is absolutely amazing in every aspect. 150% recommend!!

We love Dr. O! As a physician myself, I felt very confident in her. She exhibits all the best qualities you look for in a specialist... Great bedside manner, very knowledgable, relatable and so caring. When things didn't go well with our IUI procedures, we felt comfort that she shared our disappointment and led us to the next steps. When our IVF transfer was successful, we were so thrilled and Dr. O celebrated with us! We will be back for baby #2

My husband and I are very grateful to have had Dr. Ochalski guide us through our fertility journey. Dr. Ochalski was very dedicated to ensuring our needs and goals as patients were met. She is very knowledgable, understanding, and compasionate which made us feel supported and cared about throughout the entire process. She is both professional and personal, which made us feel like we also had a friend through what was a very difficult time in our lives. I cannot reccomend her enough.

Dr. Ochalski is fantastic! She is always there for you through out the journey and explains everything in detail and says call any time if you have a question. She is totally in it with you and there for you. I would recommend Dr. O to anyone out there. She got us a healthy boy who is now 6!

Horrible Dr. from the male perspective. Was on a drug for muscle relaxation while going through fertility treatment that lowered sperm count temporarily to almost 0. Told her that I was on the specific drug and she forced me to take the test anyways knowing that I was on the drug. I took the test...it came back with a count of 1. She called saying there was something really wrong with my prostate and I need to go to their awesome urologist in Towson, MD for treatment. Told her I already had a urologist in Lancaster and would retake the test with him after I was off the drug. Came back with a count of 110 Million. Took the results to her and said she never saw such a turnaround. She has no empathy.

I saw Dr. Olchalski due to infertility in 2019. She was fantastic-- made me and my partner feel very comfortable and gave us hope for the future. She reviewed our situation and test results in detail with us, gave us a clear understanding of our path forward, and helped guide us through the emotional journey of treatment. After 2.5 years of trying (and three cycles with Dr. Olchalski) we got pregnant with our son, who is now a healthy 9 month old. Not everyone's infertility journey is the same, but the pain and longing of trying to conceive is so normal, and going to a doctor like Dr. Olchalski not only makes you feel validated, but also gives you hope that there are so many pathways to a baby and that you can trust science. Highly recommend Dr. Olchalski to anyone looking for a competent, compassionate, and present partner in their infertility journey.

Dr. Ochalski was by far the best Dr. I have EVER had! She was knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate towards our situation. After a devastating and traumatic first round at another clinic, Dr. O walked hand in hand with us. I would recommend her in a heartbeat (and my future child's!!! as I am 18 weeks!)

Dr. Ochalski worked with me during a really difficult time struggling with infertility. Throughout it all, she was supportive, informative, and caring. She was responsive and listened to my needs and concerns. While I’m excited to no longer need her services, I will certainly miss working with her at Shady Grove Fertility.
