Great Doctor!
I was in terrible pain, Dr. Lawrence first did a couple of injections, they worked for a short time, then she did a procedure on my back and I’ve been pain free for almost a year. In my book she’s GREAT!!!

Are We Seeing the Same Dr. Melinda Lawrence?
I have to admit I am quite confused by the 1 star ratings for Dr. Lawrence. I switched from another provider who recently only started seeing patients on the West Side. On my first visit, for which I got an appointment the following week, I found her to be attentive to my needs, considerate of my concerns, and knowledgeable about my case, (she read my chart before my visit.) I was scheduled for my second back injection within 10 days of my first visit, and I just returned from a very successful procedure with Dr. Lawrence . I find her to have a wonderful bedside manner. No Physician has an hour anymore to spend with a single patient. But, I hever felt rushed, talked down to, or dismissed. Yes, I saw a resident, but Dr. Lawrence did the procedure If you want narcotic pain relief, don't see a "real" pain management specialist. They will always prescribe non-narcotic pain management- that's made clear on your first appointment with anyone in any major pain management department.

I suppose if you get relief from the pricey injection(s) that are pushed, it’s worth your time. For me, three separate occasions I have gone, no luck and ended up having three surgeries. If they don’t help, she has nothing more to offer unless you have the time to sit with the pain until they can do another money maker on you and suggest the nerve implant. No personality or investment will be had there. Your a number and a dollar sign.

Dr. Lawrence treated me with kindness and professionalism on first visit. She and her nurse Colleen were both friendly and prompt in their care of me. Dr. Lawrence showed a lot of warmth and thoroughness in her evaluation of my pain. I felt reassured by her plan of care with me.

Went to see her had intern talk to me no exam she didn’t care what I had to say. Finally Dr Lawerence came in she stood about 14feet across the room, was rushed and didn’t examine me at all, talked a bit about injections, nothing more. Will never set foot there again she is worthless ....waste of my time and money. Horrible doctor. Would not give her a star only option to submit review.

Office staff nice...takes for ever for a call back...dr. l, terrible never saw her u ntil procedure, they did not medicate me during procedure...PAINFUL,on top of the pain I went in for, thT she never prescribed ANYTHING FOR. I went to another physician that actually ordered a MRI, and followed up with my care...when she finally received the results on care everywhere, WHICH WERE SIGNIFICANT, her office F8NALLY CALLS 3 MONTHS LATER to ask how I was doing, if i was still in pain, and would I like to schedule another injection?....Like seriously....not recommending her to my lil Yorkie...im wondering if it is malpractice.

I found Dr. Lawrence to be very aloof. She came into the room and asked me about the reason for the appointment. As I started talking, she asked for the papers I had in my hand. Those papers were visit notes from another doctor. She focused more on reading those papers than actually talking to me. Dr. Lawrence never examined me. She told me I needed to get a disk of my MRI and get back with her on the days that she works. She left the room once to see if she could find my test results from a database. I felt like she was suspicious of me. I didnt feel a genuine connection or a sense of compassion for me as a patient. I wouldnt recommend her to anyone who is looking for a doctor who cares and feels empathy for ANY patient.

I was treated by a chiropractor for months who said I had an SI joint issue even though I could hardly walk and work as a hvac serviceman at age 34. I sought pain management and my wife found Dr. Lawrence on the UH site who knew my problem right away, herniated L5S1, she got me an MRI and she was right it is severe herniation but Dr. Lawrence was able to treat it and prescribe me therapy and advice, I had my second epidural injection on June 28 and I am able to work today and walk with no pain, she was spot on with the injection very little pain thru the procedure, very caring staff and she is a no nonsense Dr, gets right to the problem, called me with MRI results and gave me options even offered to expedite an appointment with a surgeon if I go that route. I will stay a patient of Dr Lawrence because I believe she cares and it's obvious she knows what she's doing and her staff made me feel very comfortable during my visits and procedures. I thank Jesus for leading me to a great Dr.

I would have to say her care was almost malpractice, I ended up only being seen by interns and never getting to talk to her on the phone (only leave voice mails that they poorly transcribe and then blame it on you). Once I went to a real doctor, he told me the injection the intern did was actually in the wrong spot! And the medicine she put me on, she never told me any of the side effects (of which there are TONS) I had to find them all out the hard way myself. Please run.

I read these reviews and almost changed my mind on going to Dr. Lawrence. She is absolutely AWESOME!!! If you are looking to treat you pain issues with narcotics, she is not for you and that is clearly stated before you even get through the message to make an appointment. God Bless Dr. Lawrence! For the first time in months, I am not falling down steps, not on any narcotics, and am getting my life back! This doctor is caring, compassionate, and willing to help any way she can!

I had two injections by Dr. Lawrence, and was in for my third! Very nervous, because I had asked for adequate pain relief for procedure past two times and didn't receive it! I was told right before I was to be taken into the procedure that she had decided to do another procedure, one I was unfamiliar with and had not talked to my surgeon about! Long story short, she never came out to talk to me, I went home without injection! The coldest, and indifference I was met with was enough!

I read her reviews prior to my visit and almost cancelled. But, I really needed to fix my pain issue so I took the appointment and kept an opened mind. The comments were so negative. But, my experience was excellent. She showed me my MRI, explained everything, I am set up for an injection and wrote me a script for a non-narcotic option. I went to her to get pain relief and she has offered several options. She is smart, I liked her.

She is the best! Gets right to the proplem and deals with it I've been a patient for approx. 2yrs. I've had many doctors and many treatments for arthritic spine with no pain relief. She started giving me trigger point injections and now controls my pain. She monitors my medical record to be able to advise me on future treatments. I have complete trust in her and feel blessed to be under her care.

I was very happy with my experience with Dr. Lawrence. I met with her twice after referral for back pain. She was pretty close to on time, treated me with respect, and thoroughly discussed the options that were available. Both Dr. Lawrence and another doctor agreed that a steroid injection had a 50/50 chance of helping. I elected the injection. That procedure went well, and while I am not totally pain free, I feel much better and can continue with my life.
