I came in as a new patient needing a routine procedure that had been done by several different gynecologists over my adulthood. In my past, I'd had a very, very painful experience and several with no pain at all, it just depended on the Dr. performing the procedure. I explained my nervousness and anxiety over this procedure to Dr. Brooks. She assured me they would take care of me and any discomfort would be minimal. I had to wait what seemed like forever, which didn't help my anxiety levels. When the procedure began, everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Needless to say it was nothing short of a nightmare, and I was in EXCRUCIATING pain. After I got dressed and Dr Brooks came in to talk to me, I expressed the pain was still immense. That's when she pretty much told me that as women, we have to endure pain such as this and it seemed as if she was saying just suck it up!!!!! I've gone to gynecologists in Lumberton for over 20 years and never have I been treated like this!
