Dr. Melissa Carr, MD

Dr. Carr is a great doctor who cared for me well through my pregnancy. She performed my c-section and my recovery was very easy. I barely have a scar. She is very knowledgeable about obstetrics and I always feel comfortable with her. I’ve had other procedures with her for gynecological visits and she is one of the best I’ve seen.

I went in for a surgery consultation, but the visit was treated as a regular Ob-gyn appointment despite my prior consultation with my primary Ob-gyn. The doctor did not review my health history and declined to perform the surgery, citing my age (mid-thirties) as a reason. Instead, she recommended medication that I believe would have only delayed the necessary treatment. She also suggested a contraceptive option that another doctor had advised against due to my condition. Despite explaining my situation and my health history, she still refused the surgery and suggested I seek a second opinion. I left the office feeling distressed and had to find another practice for appropriate care. For those seeking control over their healthcare decisions, I recommend exploring other options.
