Dont waste your time
It took us almost a year to get into dr Cortez. I was diagnosed with POTS, and she was supposedly the specialist who everyone recommended. Finally got into my apt and she had me do tests that I obviously couldn’t do with POTS and then got upset I couldn’t do them. If she had read ANYTHING about my condition she would have known those tests would be impossible. And at the end the only thing she recommended was to wear compressions socks. I’ll tell you how we healed my POTS. I took 20 grams of salt a day and slept upright in a recliner. I also started swimming each day. That was enough to reverse my condition so I could now sit and stand upright all day, but could now not lay down. After several years though, my body started to regulate on its own. I now sleep horizontal and am fine being vertical All day long. I still take a lot of salt but half as much as I use to. And I still walk and swim to keep my blood pressure good.

My daughter has been tried for four months now to setup an appointment with Dr. Melissa Cortez at the University of Utah Neurosciences. As required, she had a referral sent in by her Cartologist they failed to call her back for three weeks after they received the referral. She called twice a week to make an appointment only to find out Dr. Cortez went on leave. The office staff could have told us that weeks before (No Communication). We waited patiently for Dr. Cortez to return from her “said”.

I wish I could give zero stars. After 18 months, I still hadn't seen Dr. Cortez. Every time the appointment was less than 1 month away they would call and reschedule for 6 months later. No doctor is worth that. I finally found a new doctor, but it took Dr. Cortez's office 3 months to send a referral so even that was delayed. All of this was just the tip of the iceberg. She should stop accepting new patients until the office figures out how to fuction.
