Dr. Melissa Glasser-Caine, MD

She is so down to earth and always makes you feel comfortable. She listens and is kind and patient. Did I mention funny! Its so wonderful to visit with a Dr. that feels like a friend. I trust her implicitly. Very few Doctors give you the time and attention, she does. Her knowledge is extensive and I can go to her for anything.

The best doctor I have ever seen

Unfortunately, the entire review has NOTHING to do with the Doctor herself, but instead her office. There is NO organization within this office. There is a steady flow of new people coming in and out that do not know her name (they called to change an appt and couldn't tell me for what doctor), they speak to patients on the phone using aggressive phonetics as if they are stupid rather than demonstrating patience/understanding/ offering assistance, and the receptionist announced OUT LOUD what procedure I just had done, with other patients in the waiting room as I checked out. The waiting room wait time is approx 45 minutes per appointment. Be prepared to wait. The PA walked away from me 3 separate times to grab supplies that she "forgot" to have prepared while I sat on the exam table facing the door spread eagle after inserting the speculum.

Glasser is a great doctor but the receptionist are rude when they finally get back to you. During Covid I don’t know if it was the answering service but they hang up when I was trying to speak to someone about my US for my daughter that was 2 months ago. We had to tell Zwanger to fax it to the office rather than just looking it up. They have access to the results to your patients.

Used to be dr I liked even though I always waited hours from my scheduled appt time. Then I started getting cancellations the day before an appt scheduled 3 maths. Since I'm back in LI & has established a relationship w dr Glasser regardless of the frequent scheduling issues I tried to set up an appt this week, was told I'd receive a call back and didn't so 5 days later I just checked in and was told "you already left the practice and were not accepting you back." So rude, SO unprofessional. Lost so much respect for a doctor that I used to trust. When I moved out of town I would drive up to 2 hrs to see this doctor and would have to take the day off of work knowing that appt times were never on schedule, but understood that she she was an OB and emergencies came up. I also went through a pretty traumatic personal situation while seeing dr glasser & was treated very poorly. She never followed up but they cared more about my copay that day before leaving the office thn anything else.

Dr Glasser is a good doctor and I’m sure if you are having a baby she is very good to see. However, if you want a gynecologist only, don’t bother with this office. They don’t call drugstores back to renew prescriptions. They do not have another doctor covering when Dr Glasser is out delivering babies and it’s very difficult to get Dr Glasser herself to call you back. If you need something while she’s out you are out of luck. Wait times are excessive and it’s impossible to book an appointment unless it’s months in advance. My daughter had an emergency and needed to be seen to get a certain medication, but because Dr. Glasser was in surgery the office refused to help me. They would not even give me an appointment within a reasonable amount of time, which was very dangerous for my daughter who needs this medication to prevent cysts. I have to say I was shocked when they refused to help me. Unless you are pregnant or planning to be, find another doctor.

I was a patient with this practice briefly. I found the offices to be very incompetent and a hassle to work with. More often than not i was unable to reach the offices by phone, and when i needed an urgent appointment i was told they were booked for months and to go to the urgent care for a non-emergent situation. I ultimately left the practice because i do not like the way they do business.
