Dr. Melissa Lares, MD

I’m forever grateful to Dr. Lares. She performed my bilateral salpingectomy a few years ago and the surgery went super smoothly, I had no complications, and Dr. Lares prepared me for it with all the relevant info I could possibly need. But most importantly, she listened to me and didn’t treat me as crazy for asking to be sterilized as a 30 year woman with no children. She explained that the surgery was irreversible and I told her that I understand. Other (female!) obgyns asked me what if my FUTURE (current one consenting was not enough) husband wanted children and wanted me to undergo psychiatric evaluations. Dr. Lares did none of that. She put my well-being above that of hypothetical future men in my life like a good doctor should. Since Roe VS Wade was overturned yesterday and I now live in a state that might lose its access to abortions, I wanted to leave this long overdue review. Thank you Dr. Lares.
