Dr Means was arrogant and uncaring when dealing with my disabled son. She never examined him directly, even though she was his attending physician. She did not listen well nor was she willing to implement a baseline patient pulmonary care plan my son required to maintain his normal baseline health. She was unused to dealing with complex care patients, exhibited disability bias, and was incapable of dealing with families who were strong advocates for patient care. She made a traumatic hospital stay worse even more traumatic, ridiculed my family public ally, and was inconsiderate and uncaring. She failed to recognize or treat a tracheotomy infection that the ER staff had been concerned about, leaving my son worse off than when he came in. She didn’t understand home nursing care, and when my family was trying to reestablish home care after hospitalization in order to bring him home safely, she threatened us by suggesting that the hospital would bill us personally for his room. She picked fights with me, bullied me, and then claimed I was being rude to her. She should not be practicing medicine.

The Greatest Doctor in the World
Our family had the great privilege of the finest medical care when a member was admitted to Suburban Hospital's intensive care unit. The superbly competent Dr. Means made what could have been a traumatic event into one of the best medical experiences in our history. Her optimism and confidence reassured the patient and the entire family. Thank you, Dr. Means.
